A summer of relative boredom; lack of football and large sporting events; political unrest; Trump and our noisy neighbours from due South is nearly over.  The Fishy has chugged along slowly over the fallow weeks with chatter of press box disharmony; Summerfield's ability; Pearson's departure and a plethora of disharmonious messages......

Well it's back!

The life long rollercoaster is loaded, primed and ready to fire.  Historic and random away wins in front of adoring thousands' will be followed by bore draws' and silence at BP.

Supporting Grimsby is not just for Christmas and 2500 fans will wake excitedly early this Saturday - for we are Town.

Have to say I feel less excitement at the new season starting than i have ever done.

Maybe it is age, maybe it is the dullness of the pre season or maybe it just isnt exciting?

We are talking about getting Into the playoffs
Who is going to be most hated player on the pitch
Calls for a new keeper

As far as pre seasons go, it's been ok, hasn't it? We've had good results and solid performances.

I'm going to have a guess
1. Mansfield away (obviously this is down to results)
2. Kelly or Vernon (Assuming we don't sign another striker)
3. I'll give Macca till after the Lincoln game till the fishy starts getting on his back
4. After the Coventry game when we can't tackle in midfield or put 3 passes together  
5. November if we are in the bottom 4
6. Once the weather starts turning excrement and people want to get shelter earlier
