The only place I've seen bar billiards (apart from on that old Fred Truman pub game show) was in pubs in Kent. Cracking game. Through the door there came familiar laughter, I saw your face and heard you call my name. Oh my friend we're older but no wiser, For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I think one of the pool tables must have been haunted as when you put your money in, it came straight out again even though the balls dropped, so to speak. Saved me the cost of a pint each week, which was nice. I didn't bother to point the issue out to the bar staff as they might have tried to perform an exorcism!

I remember one year in the 60's we went to Torquay on holiday, The guest house owner was really pleased I knew how to play it, He had a table in one room but he could never find any guest who played the game, He did not knock anything off our bill though   BUT We enjoyed a few games that week.                              Over 36 years living in Suffolk but always a mariner.                              68 Years following the Town                               Life member of Trust                                First game   April 1955

However....a picture fell off my wall once when I was perhaps doing something I shouldn't..... The only other time I've seen a picture just randomly fall off a wall was at the Anglo-Saxon burial site, Sutton Hoo, in Suffolk.
