The Santander 123 account is quite good. But only really if you have a decent amount to invest. It pays a rate of 3% interest any anything over 3000 upto 20000. Therefore it is better sticking any lump sums in one of these as that rate cannot be bettered on a one year or two year ISA rate and is also a better % than tying it up in a fix rate savings bond. Yet it runs just as any other current account with instant access.

Ive been with the Yorkshire for 33 years. During the miners strike they froze all interest payments on striking miners loans and mortgages..a decent gesture and they have a very loyal customer base as a reward.

Totally agree Ian, I've never had any issues with the Yorkshire, they've always been glad to help and the staff are very friendly indeed.
