I know there nothing we can do about it but is 1715 the most awkward kick off time or are lunchtimes worse?

Maybe this could be the next item of business for the Football Supporters' Federation: "Keep Saturday Special"

Fans are fed-up with being messed around with awkward kick-off times, lunchtime kick-offs and playing on Sundays.  I suppose it's a quid pro quo for the Premier League clubs ( just read that only 6 of Arsenal's last 41 matches have been on a Saturday) who get £6bn in return, but there's no reason, commercial or otherwise, for Conference matches to be kicking off at anything other than 3pm on a Saturday.  It's not like the club gets any money out of it, so why bother?

I understand why they don't broadcast 3pms on a Saturday but in this age of live streaming it seems pointless preserving it. If there is a game you want to see there will be a website showing it. I think if you enjoy watching live football you will go to it regardless of whether there is a game on telly and if you would rather watch a club you have no identity with on the telly you will never go to a live game.

As much as TV has ruined football maybe it is time that the 3pm kos were broadcast to stop silly kick off times like today for us.

Aldershot fans won't get back home until midnight tonight because a few hundred people will watch the Barnet game on telly!

1715 is worse than 1245. It inconveniences my tea time for starters.

From a home game perspective i lke 5.15 k.o, gives you the whole day Saturday to do stuff at home, work, shopping, etc without rushing around, plus Saturday workers get a chance of getting to the game as well...plus its easy to slip straight out on the lash and make the night of it.

I would be pretty happy to have all home games 5.15 k.o

Agree it suits home supporters but it definitely shafts away fans - Gateshead a prime example today. Away from traditional Saturday 3pms I'd favour the Friday 7.45ko. The perfect way to end a excrement week at work is to vent it with a few beers and watch some footy imo.

I agree with the comments about broadcasting 3pm games.  Surely the internet and streaming are making this inevitable, so let's just get on and allow it.  If games are at fixed times, it might even blunt Sky's stranglehold on the national game which makes everything revolve around "Super Sunday" and which allows Sky to dictate terms to supporters.

Lower league clubs can go back to selling the unique football experience that you can only get by being at a game and start differentiating themselves from the circus of the Premier League.  I think it's a false dichotomy to pitch being at a live game and seeing your hometown team, against sitting at home watching Stoke v Burnley, being told what your opinion is by Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness.  The two things are entirely different.

This is why I always wince when hearing clubs fefer to fans as "spectators" as if they're passive observers of something being played out in front of them, like they're at the Royal Opera House or Sadler's Wells.  If you want to watch quality football in comfort, with a view of every angle, then stay at home and watch Racing Santander v Barcelona.  If you want something tribal, visceral and communal, with sights, sounds, smells, songs, nerves and emotions, then go to a game.  I'm not convinced clubs get this or sell this enough, but it's the essence of why live football will always beat "footballtainment".

Imagine what it is like for Premier League fans. They have kick offs all over the place becuase of TV and European games. I'd love to have that problem one day.

I'm currently watching Burnley v Leicester on NBC sports, so as stated, you can watch any game you want at any time nowadays. I doubt that having a 5.15 kick off in the Conference would make any difference at all and could have been played at 3.00pm with no problems. Games on TV don't really stop fans attending live games, so it's pointless.
