After reading the info released Am I right in saying that all of us will be let in through that pathetic turnstile behind the away stand on Alma St?? Oh dear it could be mayhem

Don't want to sound alarmist but the Hillsborough Inquiry the other week suggested a cause of the problem was 23 turnstiles for 24,000 fans. If we've got 2 for 2,500 it's a worse ratio. Hope common sense prevails so we can get in safely and on time.

Common sense works both ways....it would be helpful if Town fans going;

factored in the roadworks and allowed enough time for the journey
didnt turn up p1ssed out of their heads
arrived at the ground early to allow enough time for controlled entry
considered their fellow supporters and the club in all of the above

am i right in thinking the side stand has no advertising signs in the way ?

if so, could be chaos with people on the pitch

I have no plans to invade the pitch, don't worry

Gonna be a squeeze in that end behind the goal. No fatties please.

From what I've seen at Blundell and away days I have been to over the last few years this request may lead to a half empty stand

Just kidding in case anyone is offended - and if you are offended - well call the Samaritans because as you know 'They Care"

Its hard enough remembering my opinions without remembering my reasons for them!

Don't forget not having lying plods running the show. Like the fellah who admitted after 26 years that he copulated up, and then lied and got his team to doctor evidence. I thought that finally the myth of it all being the fault of "drunken thieving Scousers" would be put to bed now.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

A few convictions would help. Not holding my breath though.

Planning the arrival of hordes of Mariners is no easy task apparently - taken from the Alfreton board:

"Segregation plans have been drawn up with the assistance of the Police and bearing in mind our certification from the local authorities. Our ground is not the best designed for big matches and there are only certain points that a segregation can take place whilst guaranteeing the safety of all supporters. We have a duty of care to all that attend every match whether these are home or away supporters, staff, players, Police and everyone else - if we told you how much planning has gone into this one match you wouldn't believe - whilst most of us were tucked up in bed our Safety Officer submitted the final plans for approval from the authorities at 2am this morning and we received the go ahead early this morning.
We would all like every match to be like last Saturday against Barnet - almost 1,000 attendance and no segregation. Unfortunately an expected attendance of over 3,000 presents a whole different measure of problems and some of the decisions are taken out of our hands.
The cost of staging this match will be well into 5 figures and we have done our best to accommodate people as best we can. Home supporters who use the Tom McRoy Stand will naturally be aggrieved although we have taken steps to ensure that season ticket holders in that stand have been seated elsewhere. Our average home support is less than 500 and we have made available space for over 1,000 home supporters which we considered to be sufficient for our needs.
The club apologises in advance to anyone who considers that they have been unfairly treated and if they would like to point out to me how we could have configured the ground another way I for one would be extremely grateful as it will make the next big match planning so much easier !!
We ask for understanding and hope that most will just come and enjoy what could be a memorable day."

"Pound for pound, and class for class, the best football team I have seen in England since the war. In the league they were in they played football nobody else could play. Everything was measured, planned and perfected and you could not wish to see more entertaining football." Bill Shankly, Manager GTFC 1951-54
