Got to be post-war judging by the clothes spectators are wearing and also the style of the football kits. I'd say somewhere in the 50s. But which one is Town?! Not obvious, but I think I've seen a kit that was mainly white shirts with a bit of black on it.

Not sure it is 50s but it could be. Town only wore the white shirts for one season in the early 60s which seems late for this film.

I wonder if it is a wartime exhibition type match and Town are not playing at all.

Almost certain it was early to mid-fifties.

The original floodlights were installed around about 1953'ish and I
can remember playing under them about three years later. Before
then during the mid-winter months Town would kick-off at 2.00pm
and the old brown footballs would be dipped in a bucket of whitewash
which was kept alongside the dug-out.as the daylight faded.

I don't think think this was the Town playing, but wonder if it was the
Grimsby Borough Police team, who almost certainly played in quartered
shirts. They were the best police team in the country ( the Chief Constable
of that time headhunted ex-professional footballers) and they would
attract gates of several thousands.

That's brilliant....
