I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

Nice one good on em

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Second time an incident like that has happened this season too town fans - Torquay away too. Not acceptable by any means, it's the fifth division of English football, clubs should be accommodating away fans with open arms to raise any extra cash.

I agree, let's make the Hive away end the most intimidating it's ever been in every way possible. Pack out the full allocation of tickets in both stands and make em av it, get in

I will probably get pelters for this but it is a genuine question;

Why would a 41 year old man take an inflatable beach ball to watch a football match? Just don't get it!

This does not, in any shape or form, excuse the over the top heavy handed tactics

Article on telegraph website now; http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.....56-detail/story.html

Asked if he would take a beachball to games in future, he replied: “I don’t see why not. It’s not going to hurt anyone. It’s not a weapon of mass destruction. It excites people. I just want to give that boost to everybody.”

Harmless fun ?  Even at my age and health  I still like to have a bit of fun .It appears common sense was thrown out the windows . If anyone considers an inflatable beach ball as an offensive weapon , the world has gone mad .  Was this incident before the match or during . ?   Just a word to the person to keep it under control during the match would have been the correct way .  However visual images tell different  stories .

I'm happy to act as a witness if needed. It all happened in front of me. Feel bad as I thought about jumping in to help but thought there was a high chance I'd end up with a banning order if I did.

Pm me if needed.

So err, did anyone else get as much enjoyment as I did out of the picture? Despite the heavy handiness, you have to admire the fan in questions desire to hold on to the ball and the Town fan on the far left about to form a massive smirk on his face at the whole situation.

THIS. I along with 4 others see them slam his head against the wall outside. We didn't see the initial incident but if they have statements from people for what happened inside we'd be happy to give them what happened once he was out the ground.
