It's utterly farcical, and I can only imagine that the people in charge of the trophy enjoy their day out at Wembley and their bit of the limelight too much to worry about actually running a competent, efficient competition.

I notice that they have not said on their website that Geoff Eltringham (Football League referee from Tyneside) was there at the 2.30 p.m. inspection, whereas he was at the other 2. I remain unconvinced - particularly as I knew there was no point in travelling today (not that I would have). Blundell Park - The Home of Grimsby Town Football Club (still)

Anything that further antagonises our fishy friends is good by me. If its off again on Wednesday can we make sure it's not announced till about 5pm please? Think we must have hit a nerve
