Town 5 Barnet 0

PH tries a new formation with The Shop in goal and James McKeown in a front 4 alongside Pearson, Magnay and Winfarrah.

McKeown bags all 5 before being replaced in the 92nd minute by Ross Hannah who goes on to miss 2 penalties and be caught offside 17 times.

Comment from the Barnet forum :-

"And I hate that draughty dump as well (excellent fish and chips aside)"

Can't say they have much room to talk when you consider Underhill was a dump and the Hive is one decent stand, a couple of bus shelters and some seats with no roof, on the outside wall of a sports centre.

Oh and £5.00 to park the car.

Looking at their side you can see why they have done so well. TWO very good strikers for this level. I thought Charlie MacDonald was up there with the signing of the summer.
Then they signed Lee Cook! I fear for Parslow if he is up against him.

Ex Scunt Togwell is better than this level and Stephens is a dominant c/b

Having sounded like PH it is up to us to have a go. No problem with a holding midfielder provided the rest of the side is set up to go at them.

Hopefully a good game

Grimsby 0 - 3 Barnet.

Akinde with 2 and a OG from Parslow.

McKeown can do nothing but constantly shout "stay up" as Barnet dominate Grimsby's attacking 4, 6, 0 formation.

Hurst match analysis starts with "I thought we started well" and finishes with "we've made some enquiries".

John Fenty spends three hours on the fishy, proclaiming the board is all doom and gloom and then takes a taxi to the nearest flag shop.

The Grimsby telegraph reports that Town are "close to an exiting striker"... yet we bring in a holding Midfielder from York on a months loan.

I think Barnet will win 2-1
They will score a couple, we will fight back but ultimately not be good enough.

If players and Hursty are by any chance reading this forum We will support you no matter what come kick off! Please prove our fears that Barnet will be too good for us wrong!

A draw. No good to anyone except the manager.

Not been for a while?!

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

I'm not as optimistic as you.

4-1 to Barnet and a barrage of posts Saturday night saying "Hurst is still the man for the job"

Are we any closer to getting promoted since Hurst has been here? No

Has he been given time to achieve promotion by the chairman and fans? Yes

Big game, TV cameras, decent crowd.............has all the makings of another letdown i'm afraid.

Barnet simply have more of a goal threat than us.

Town will work hard but i dont see us creating too many opportunities. We will defend ok but will get undone a couple of times.

Town 0 Barnet 2
3248   (77 away)

any lingering hopes of winning this league will be ended.

If we could 'get at them' early on we would have a chance but i dont expect us to. When was the last tine you watched us start fast out of the blocks and really have a go at the opposition , put them under some pressure and ask some questions?.......i cant remember either

Apparently we've had more shots on target than any other team in the conference. Lose 0-1. Set out to get a draw, concede in the first ten mins, Hurst has no plan B so we sit and defend and make sure its only 1-0. If we miraculously win we will help Brizzel more than ourselves.

I've been to two home games this season and one away. I've got 100% record to date and will be there on Saturday. What's more, we won the two home games 3-0.  Therefore, this one has to be a 3-0 win to Town as well.  Just saying!

Barnet 3-1 Grimsby but I think we will play them off the pitch but still be on the back end of a hammering

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara
