Here's how a Lincoln MOM  poll finished:

Farman: 42.86%

Caprice: 0%
Brown: 0%
Newton: 0%
Bencherif: 7.14%
Power: 7.14%
Mendy: 0%
Adams: 28.57%
Marshall: 0%
Sam-Yorke: 14.29%
Tomlinson: 0%

Says it all in a way, were we that bad?

He's a good shot stopper but terrible on crosses. But we wouldn't know as we didn't put any crosses in.

I think we just need to accept that at all levels, teams just have a bad day, or are rubbish.  Sunday was one of those days.  The current squad didn't get us relegated out of the league or mismanage the club; they're a decent bunch of blokes, probably not earning as much as, or much more than, a fair few of the fans watching them.  They will know they messed up and I'm sure will be desperate to put it right tomorrow.   Fourth in the league at the half-way point with a game in hand and rivals still to play is not a bad position.

They won't know that they've messed up if Hurst tells them they played well.

That's assuming, davmariner, that what PH tells the players is the same as what he tells us.  I'm not convinced any manager tells the fans and media the same things he tells the team.

Not necessarily, it's one thing not criticising the players to the fans and looking for positives which is fair enough, but another actively praising their performance when it wasn't good at all really.

Nor was it as bad as everyone has made out! The Lincoln mom poll is a good indicator there. Yes, we were second to most second balls in midfield but we caused them plenty of problems. On another day, we'd have scored 3 and this embarrassing tirade would not have occurred. Judge the team on our season not on a derby match which are generally unreliable indicators of form.

We've not beaten Lincoln with any conviction since Hearn became crocked. Now we lose to them with Mendy in their side.

We beat them 4-1 without Hearn

Hearn always ran them ragged though. It was a mental advantage over them when they saw his name in the team. Now they've clicked that a bit of huff and puff will beat us, and that Diz is fading and his goals aren't enough anymore.

Still think that the injuries made a big difference, until Nielson went off, & Magney was crocked, we were the better side.

Goals change games, the first was a great strike, but conceding the second straight away gave us a mountain to climb.

Hurst couldn't then change it around because we had already used two subs.

Anyone else noticed how they singled out Magney for some treatment, maybe they knew how influential he is to us & wanted to stop him.

Not sure what happened to Nielson, but again he was having a good game in the middle before he to went off.

They only got on top of us after they went off, until then we were the better side.

Anyone else remember us yelling "hoof" at their players when they where hoofing it up the pitch in the first half?

They where world beaters in the second half, makes you think? Small margins in football, but that's how it goes sometimes.

Neilson was caught slightly awkwardly in a tackle and appeared to twist his knee. No foul at all, it was a decent tackle from Power (I think) but it was just unfortunate that he picked up the injury. We scored whilst he was still down injured.

I think the fact that we never really pinned them back in the second half or got completely on top of them for any period of time is why there is such criticism of the performance. Disappointing to see that when we needed to get back into the game.

I thought Power had a good game for them.  He seems like the sort of midfielder PH would like; hard-working, tough tackling and also uses decent passing to bring in other players.  Got forward really well for his goal too.  Would have liked to have had a 100% Brown up against him.

I seem to recall that Power has been described as those sort of players who puts in a good performance once every 4 or 5 games and is poor the rest of the time. Unfortunately, he put in one of his good performances against us the other day!

I am seriously beginning to wonder if I watched a different game. We put in quite a few crosses from both sides. The people around me were complaining because the crosses were being eaten up by their tall defenders....

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.
