York City would be delighted for us to take over this gutless clown's contract. Should we?

A feature of past promotion seasons for Town has been inspired, sometimes unexpected loan successes; Woodsy, Mendonca, Futch, the list goes on.
This guy isn't in the same class, and Hurst doesn't inspire me in his loan dealings at all.

I thought Parslow was only to play a bit part as a utility player.

At the end of the day, it comes down to is he good enough? I don't think he is. I don't want to do anyone out of a job, I know he's nearly 30 and has had a bad knee injury but I just don't see his ability. Yep, he's a steady Eddie but we don't need steady Eddie's, Alfreton need Eddie. Sorry mate, we need winners, not you.

I don't rate Parslow very highly, but calling him a gutless clown is just embarrassing.

I think as a bit part utility player, a steady Eddie is what you need especially if you are looking to balance the books.  The problem is Padge, that Hurst hasn't put together a strong enough squad and players like Parslow are taking the hit for other players not stepping up.  I feel you are being harsh on Parslow, there are other players who need assessing to see if they are good enough for GTFC not bit part utility steady Eddie players.

Bit harsh comparing him to players who played for us successfully 3 divisions higher.

I wouldn't sign him though! (but I think he will)

Then what do you mean by 'gutless'?

By all means criticise a player's ability, but 'gutless clown'? Really? If you believe he gives 100% (as you stated), do you really think he deserves that?

Come on I know he's not for us and IMO isn't a very good footballer but I'm sure he's trying his best. It's not down to him he's in the team each game it's the stupid manager for putting him there.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

No I would not sign him. I know he is versatile but there must be better out there. However I have a feeling PH will try to get him until the end of the season.

I thought he pulled out of a couple of tackles. Hard to bear any game but in a derby it's a disgrace.

Is this the Parslow that's been part of one of the leagues best defences this season? Think you're all being very harsh. He's a decent player for the level we are at. He didn't have the best game against Lincoln but neither did anyone else.

I think Danny Parslow has been okay a player we need at this level he's played RB, CB, Holding midfield and could cover at LB aswell i would rather him being in the team instead of Bignot.

Paul Bignot activated his own contract extension, he must have known he wasn't going to be starting games. It seems unlikely anyone would take over his contract in January.

I heard it as we are trying to extend loan to the end of the season.

I don't have a problem with him as additional defensive cover. Don't think he should be first choice mind

I'm really surprised at your terminology BP as you normally post a lot of sense. This kind of statement puts you on par with Bruce Springsteen and that can't be a good thing !

The guy gives 100% and for that he has my respect. In fairness has he really had a long enough run in his best position? Not really. At the same time I don't believe that he's strong enough, imposing enough or quick enough to play for us. But there is something I quite like about him, I just can't put my finger on it.
