What was your reason

Was completely bored on Saturday at the game as I have been on more than one occasion this season.

I just could not justify paying another hard earned £18 in the space of a few days at the risk of it happening again. I want to be entertained as well as seeing us win (not too much to ask is it)

That said it seems like it was a better performance last night

Couldn't get a flight.

There's a crooked street in Grimsby Town
It's a well worn path I've travelled down
Now there's ruin in my name, I wish i'd never got off the train
And I wish I'd listened to the words you said....
...Don't go down to Freeman Street
Don't go down to Freeman Street
You'll be lost and never found
You can never turn around
Don't go down to Freeman Street

Exile living in York.  Had other commitment so could not go last night.

The low attendance (and lower than Sat) is down to numerous factors already flagged up in posts.  A winning team, playing well, and playing attractive football will increase attendances.  (This is not rocket science).

Which, in the second decade of the 21st. century is pathetic from a public transport point of view. The downside of living "out on a limb" I guess....

I do sometimes make midweek games (was at Halifax game at BP) from my home more than 90 miles away in North Yorkshire, but last night I had 16 reasons - none of which are any of your business!

Two games in four days , enough said about first . Managers comments , no guarantee of attractive football . Eight hundred down on Saturday would give most a clue , and of course money . Went christmas shopping Monday and Tuesday  with wife . Had to listen on radio but only lasted 60 minutes , couldn't stand the pressure . Very interesting pre match commdnts from AB .

Tough day at work, knackered and aching. Just couldn't muster up the energy after Saturdays dismal game. Two others at work specifically said they were not going because of the boring football and manager but it seems i'm not allowed to say that because it's not true and they were just cold/saving up for Christmas/couldn't afford it/watching Champs League.

Two others at work had been to see Hull v Tottenham on Sunday. Both used to go watch Town, but have lapsed and found their fix elsewhere. When i question these two as to why they now go to Hull, they think i'm nuts to pay £18 to watch Town.

The irony is that one of these two has a large hoarding at BP advertising his business, for which he pays a fairly large sum per season. He personally knows many of the great and good at Town and can get free tickets whenever he likes. Him and i were recently talking to someone prominent from the club and even he was saying that he thinks Hurst should be more gung-ho at home.

This is what Town are up against but it seems some choose not to believe it and say that those who are choosing not to go are somehow not real Town fans and should be ecstatic at being second in non league, struggling to score goals against Altrincham and Southport.

I suspect i'll get the usual plethora of red crosses but for me, Town are in danger of fading into oblivion if we cannot address these problems and get more people in the ground. The product is only attractive to the diehards, whatever position we are in the league, or non league to be more precise.

A lot of fans need to have a long hard look at themselves, In my opinion a major reason that a lot do not go is the the terrible and nasty atmosphere generated by fans themselves at BP. People are saying we should encourage a younger generation to become regular supporters, I know someone who was a regular fan who does not go now because he does not like his young kids to listen to the swearing ,booing and nasty bile spouted by a decent minority of the crowd at BP.  Some there think we have divine right to win every week and the abuse  if we don`t is horrendous. A lot of these same fans moan that the manager doesn`t ever praise them

There is little coincidence that the team seem to play with more confidence away from home and that it is a much more enjoyable for fans, who go to support their team not wait for something to moan about. In fact I would go further and say moaning and getting at the team is frowned upon and discouraged by travelling fans who do not want the day ruined by the miserable

Any fan who pays money to see a football match is entitled to an opinion, booing is part and parcel of football wrong or right.

the reason the attendances are down is part due to the time of the year but imo more to do with the whole paul hurst package from his interviews to his lack of likeable personality , some are diehards and some are fickle.

I don't like him as a manager and its maybe partly my fault for being stubborn but I cant believe we are second in the table and I still cant take to him , attendances usually say a lot on how the fans feel and 800 down on Saturday shows they cant be arsed,  we then win on Tuesday and if we do on Saturday then my guess is the attendance will be over 3k for the next home game, its just how football is.

respect to the die hards who go no matter what but the manager does not inspire me one little bit and that is just my opinion and don't expect everyone to agree as football divides fans wrongly or rightly.
