Barnet have signed 19 year old striker Bernard Mensah from Watford on an initial months loan.

He scored 14 goals for the Watford under-18s side in nineteen games, & has played for their 1st. team.

Yes. He'll be able to go to work on the bus.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

On a month's loan? That's a pretty low risk way of finding that out.

You don't have to be a genius to see he's got something about him.

Agreed and even more so when he has played 7 or 8 games in the Conference for Braintree last season

What's wrong with getting on his bike? It's only a few miles down the road.

Wish we had a Championship club 10 miles away like Barnet do.

Yes that would be good, we have to go to New Zealand to find a striker.

You think so ?
I'd have thought for a team currently doing well (and can only go one way), throwing a young player into the starting XI might be considered a risk (i.e. if it upsets the team) for a side currently doing well.

But like I said, I've no idea about the players ability or worth.
Obviously the manager wouldn't bring him in if he thought he couldn't add something.
Let's hope he doesn't.

Not sure theres the need to over analyse things to this extent, certainly not in terms of a month long loan signing.

Who even says he is going into the first team? We didnt exactly throw Oates into the first term did we?

Exactly, who said he was.
All I'm saying with my point is if he DOES go straight in then being a new player it MAY upset the applecart for a side who can currently do little wrong.
To be clear, I'm not saying teams shouldn't introduce young players into their sides.

Yeah me too.

What would be even better is if we had a Premiership one approximately 30 miles away.
