Tend to agree it should have stayed but in Rob's defence, he can't please everyone...

It's one of those "mixed" ones - where do they go ?

Perhaps you've just got to accept the "non footy" bit as part and parcel...?
I don't enjoy the party politics tangents either but moving it does feel a bit "kneejerk".
Soon as you start pandering to "dislikes" it's a slippery slope...
Maybe it's a bit like me - generally disliked but generally accepted !

It's not like you don't get "non footy" posts dotted about the footy section.
Certainly see little point getting all "Anil" about whether every single post is "footy related".

End of the day it's Rob's site and tbf it was spiralling out of control a bit.

It's pathetic that this thread has been moved to non-footy. It's clearly still related to GTFC's stadium plans and the political issues surrounding them (minor monarchy discussion aside). Awful & weak moderating.

What's pathetic is this reaction. Has the thread been closed down? Are you prevented from clicking on the non-footy area to add your comments?

My view is that after the first couple of pages any link to GTFC disappeared. I certainly never mentioned them in any of the several contributions I've made to this thread. Grimsby Pete's voting intentions have more of a mention!

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Well said comrade

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Neither of them are putting up in our area,

We have  Cons, Lab, Lib, Ukip or Green,

So which one would you like me to vote for ?

As a life long labour supporter who thinks they no longer represent my views I will be supporting the Greens, the only party campaigning for a fairer more equal society.  Labour is lIke the old tory party now and people calling them the loony left are just people who believe anything the Daily mail says. Calling a person a loony because they have a very slightly different political view is not only bizaarre but quite dangerous in a democracy.

It's pathetic because finally a thread shows up on here with some interesting discussion, broadly around the topic of GTFC's new stadium, then less than 24 hours after being posted it's shunted off to the lesser read non-footy board to die. All because a handful of posters and moderators objected to the thread going off on a minor, but still football related political tangent. This discussion was far more interesting than the typical content-less "guess the score" threads clogging up the main football forum. The topic of this thread is still UKIP's ludicrous stadium plans, and anyone who didn't visit the football forum before this thread was moved is unlikely to find this topic and contribute to the original discussion now (which is football related).

I notice you mentioned GTFC in your post. Shall we move it back to the Footy forum?

I agree with you Chris and it's partly my fault for going off track and I am sorry for that,

BUT

If I started a non footy thread on opera and somebody brought football into it,

Would the mods move it to the New Fishy Board ?

I bet they wouldn't.

If you started a thread on opera and after the initial flurry of "opera" posts it became blatantly clear to any "reasonable" poster that it had totally lost any discussion of opera and dissolved into which town player had the best voice, should rock concerts be held at BP to generate money for the club? etc etc etc then I'm sure if you gave the mods a nudge it could quite easily be move to the far more RELEVANT site. Which would of course be footy
