Do we have money to buy a player or is it just money available for wages?  I know JF said money is available but I wonder which one.

One of our best creative spells was when paddy brown and clay were all playing in the middle, however then we're relying on LJL upfront. How about paddy and brown in the middle?

When we beat Gateshead and Alfreton we had Paddy, Clay and Brown with Neilson in the free role with Lenny and Pitman upfront.
The same was for Aldershot which we would have won if Lenny wasn't sent off so early on in the game.

Is it a coincidence that when we had Paddy Brown and Clay in the centre midfield the balance in there was perfect we controlled the game and Neilson was allowed to exploit the space he was being given. Its not difficult to see that we won games when we was playing with that team. Okay Pitman has been injured but other than that I think the changes have been avoidable.

Liam Hearn. Someone who can make a goal out of nothing.

An attacking midfielder with goals in him. Was hoping Paddy was that man but he seems to be out of favour with Hurst.

Hoping Arnold brings a few goals and competition for the wingers/strikers when and if he gets fully fit.

Totally agree. Hearn created chances for himself, Hannah very rarely does. Ross works hard and is, or rather was, an accomplished finisher, a jonny on the spot but in the last 12 mths he doesn't seem the same player. He is often very static when midfielders have the ball. Hearn got into space, isolated defenders took them on and got a shot away.
For me it is a striker with movement. If we had one the midfield we have would be much more creative.

I think Paddy is as in and out as his performances. Started last Tuesday, had the 2 gilt edge chances but no goals.

IF  fit Arnold and Pittman will greatly improve us as a team, possibly enable us to play 433 with real pace and power

Agree with what Chris says, the problem might be keeping PIttman and Arnold fit !

I think Pittman could bag a lot of goals for us if he stays fit, Also the situation with Arnold seems very vague to me!     For me another quality striker and we would be there or there abouts, the problem at the moment is lack of goals - lets hope this gets resolved as quickly as possible!

We might be missing no more than a fit Pittman, a fit and committed Arnold, and the tactical flexibility to make the best use
of what we've got.

Town seem to look most fluid with Nielson operating in the 'hole' behind TWO strikers - playing just LJL up-front is half-way to
settling for a clean sheet IMO. We should do that when we can. But against the 'bus-parkers' we have to get the ball wide and
get to the bye-line (Buckley style) to open them up. In which case Nielson needs to understand his job is to get to the bye-line
and put over crosses rather than trying to beat the opposition all on his own.

Plus our strikers need to be told: one of you attacks the near post and the other the back stick - so the wingers know where
they can put the ball when they don't have time to look up.

We're lucky to have a player as good as Nielson that allows us this flexibility. This isn't a case of picking the team in awe of
the opponents, but adjusting our style to the way they set up.

If Mackreth doesn't show why PH has been trying to sign him for 2 seasons, we can play Arnold in his position.

Defensively we look good, and the midfield is ok - the reason we 'lump it to the Shop' so often is because LJL is always
showing for the ball (to his credit). Pittman did the same when I've seen him, and we looked a lot less one-dimensional
as a result.

But, as they say, opinions are like @rseholes.....everybody's got one!

Is the general consensus that all we need is a proven goalscorer. Clearly Hannah is both out of form and, to an extent, out of favour but is there anywhere else we need to strengthen?

Our lack of wing cover worries me and I'm not too impressed by Mackreth and I would like to see another centre mid who gets a bit further forward ie Disley with younger legs. Anyone else?

We have cover on wings in Arnold and Winfarrah do just a scorer for me.

In some ways I'm wishing Rodman still played for us even though he's a gay self obsessed male masturbator. Should have signed Bogle and Moult and left Arnold at home.

Just a jack in the box striker, a forward who does nothing much but get on the end of crosses and poaches goals
The team pretty much has every other requirement so not much need except the most priceless commodity - no wonder they are sold for the most money at any level

Had we had a Johnny on the spot for Dover, Nuneaton, Southport, Dartford, Alty we would be at least six points closer
