To me this 'we still need a striker' talk is purely being used to mask Hurst's inability to create effective tactics that suit the players we have!

Nothing to do with the lack of fitness (Pittman, Oates and Arnold) and the lack of ability (the other two) then. Hurst even admitted in last nights interview that the strikers weren't being brave enough in the box.

Well I`m of the opinion that Hurst is staying, why would he be tasked to find a striker if he was due to be sacked

Common sense would say to leave that job to the new guy who might know someone that he would be confident in to produce,  plus any connections he may have

We are not going to get a striker who can score goals on loan,

So we either have to buy one,

Or change the way we play so  our own strikers  start scoring.

Oats scored goal dropped potentially a decent striker , Hannah scored for fun before we signed him now had it coached out of him . Pitman was always going to be a big gamble , why a full contract ?  Arnold turned out to be a joke of a signing . Which leaves you know who .
Trust him to get a striker in ?  Not a chance .
He doesn't even know his best eleven or where to play them , then tries formations they can't adapt to .
I wouldn't trust him to bring someone in only to play a big part .
