Probably even more homesick now Connell has gone. They were stopping at the same place.

Yes, I think I need to pop in there this week and have a few words with him!

Heard about a month ago he wanted to go back home... so it might have actually been true.

I don't go with this homesickness.   He is being paid, under contract, to play for us.

When we beat Alfreton 7-0 somebody ob here said that he sat there looking miserable.

I left Mablethorpe at just 16 to join the Forces in Hereford.  I had what was put down as severe homesickness.  You were not allowed home very often during training and you had to travel right across country by rail to get home.  I persevered and did 14 years regular service.

Surely Arnold can give it a try at the very least?

Maybe he thinks that for some reason he has picked the wrong club.

Even if he was looking a little glum could be anything - stubbed toe, dog just died etc we just don't know.

We know for sure he's been injured + out the team.
Hardly any suprise if he wasn't dancing in the street.

My wild guess (that's all it is)...
There won't be any issue once he gets his opportunity.
Hope I'm right !

Or, maybe... just maybe... he didn't want to gloat in front of his old club. He did spend a few years with Alfreton and helped them achieve promotion; he probably still has a few good mates on that team.

Christ, he was probably trying to show as much class as he could, and instead here we are bashing him and calling him miserable, homesick, etc..

Perhaps the reason he was looking a little glum was that he jumped out of his car at BP and stood in some Dog Sh!t and ruined his new trainers.

He is on a season long loan, so how does it work ?

Has he got to go back to Cambridge first or can we insist he stays,?

Maybe he is not happy if that is the case because he his not playing,

Once he is fit and in the team he might be overjoyed.

Paul Hurst reads The Fishy so maybe he will come out and squash these rumours,

Or confirm them.

AFAIK, season long loans can't be recalled by the parent club, but as far as the player wanting to return of his own free will, I don't think we can stop that.
