Been some great games in the League Cup over the years, which was your favourite? Town have had several memorable runs. One of my first ever games was the win over Everton, followed by the Wolves games in 1979. But the best has to be the win at Anfield and Jevvo's goal. Here's a complete list of our league cup games. http://www.thefishy.co.uk/story.php?id=8388376Wonder if anyone went to them all. Just about possible as they span exactly 50 years.

I'm going to leave the biggies aside and say I really enjoyed the QPR game in 1992, even though we lost on penalties.

I remember reading once that Les Ferdinand said that game was the worst racist abuse he ever received. One of those moments your ashamed to be a Town fan. Anyway, similarly avoiding the obvious ones. I'll go for the 5-0 win against Oldham (Jack Lester hat-trick I think), the 3-2 win vs Wolves with Johnny Rowan's debut goal to win it, and last but not least the 3-3 (won on pens) thriller with Sheffield United hours after the 9/11 attack.

Knocking Sheff Wed out in 1997 stands out for me even though we lost the 2nd leg at their place. I was sat on the front row right in line with the beautiful strikes from Nogan and Groves. Sheff Wed were premier league at the time and it was just as we got our act together in that glorious season. Loved it.

My first taste of us doing well in the League Cup was going to night matches against Bolton, Preston and West Ham in late 65
Great games and great memories of being allowed to go to these night games which always seemed more appealing than the usual Saturday games
I was only 8 at the time but boy did I soak up the atmosphere....these games maybe more than any others sowed the seeds of my lifetime of devotion to the Mariners

The 3 games against Wolves. Kevin Drinkell hit the bar in the bar in the first replay. Nearly into the semi-final.

Missed all the biggies (apart from catching them on telly/radio) so for me it has to be Donny on 17/8/71 43 years and 11 days ago. One of Lawrie Mac's first games in charge after switching from Doncaster I believe. My first game and it got me hooked.

Was it Drinkell? For some reason I thought it was Garry Liddell but then again my head had been used as a football by the Wolves "fans" before the game so maybe I was a bit confused

I thought it was Gary Liddell too. I remember when Andy Gray scored for them it was the loudest roar I'd ever heard at a game.

I went to almost all the big memorable games but one that I really enjoyed was the 3-1 win over Leicester at BP in 1997. They were the holders at the time and absolutely battered us in the first half, inspired by a very young Robbie Savage and I think we were 1-0 down at half time. The second half was a different story and it was of the best 45 minutes of football I've ever seen by a Town side.
For me though a toss up between the home and away wins over Everton and the Liverpool win for most memorable game.
There's a few errors in that list too as the home win over Everton was definitely not in August and we played Wolves in the round after Everton, not Huddersfield.

The Everton game was on Oct 30th not August 30th, I will never forget the date as I got married the next day! The thing I remember most about that night is that it rained heavily throughout most of the game and Sydney Park had been used as an overflow car park which became sodden and cars got stuck meaning it took me over an hour to get out !

Gary Child's 25 yarder in 119th minute against Kingston Communications City of Culture 2017 Tigers in 1989 is the game I'll always remember.
Wilko's last minute header at Everton comes a close 2nd though.

Yeah, looking at the list again it seems that it's just the date of the Everton game that's wrong.

Seem to remember Kev Jobling being a major figure in the turn-around. Scored the equaliser I think. Had he come on as a sub? Remember Livvo scoring effectively through a minor act of assualt!

Yeah he came on for Danny Butterfield during the first half. The Livvo goal was great, keeper (Kasey Keller?) wiped out by the centre back and the bounced off Livvo's bottom!
