Boxing Day 1983. Town 1 Wednesday 0. Can't remember any details other than a great atmosphere which probably had something to do with the attendance: which I have always remembered as 16,197.  Really don't know why that figure has stuck in my head these last 30 years. Please let me down gently if it's wrong!

The other one (wembley aside) was the 2-1 victory over Exeter to secure promotion (1991?) hated every minute after Exeter scored

I was going to say the Everton home game or the Exeter home game or the West Ham League Cup classic but I was reminded of another great game in the GT Bygones this week, January 1959, FA Cup 3rd Round - Town 2 Man City 2. I remember BP being covered in snow and Mike Cullen scoring with a header, very unusual for him. We were 2-0 up at half time but had to hang on for a draw. Then we went and won the replay at Maine Road 2-1 with Ron Cockerill scoring both I think.

Some great matches mentioned and i was at a good number of them but one that always sticks in my mind was Easter 1982 (i think) against Barnsley at BP.

2-0 down at half time and we won 3-2 kicking toward a packed pontoon in the second half. Joe Waters magnificent and pandemonium in the Ponny.

I'd quite like to relive the 7-0 against Stockport from a couple of years ago - the problems of being a recent town fan!

Seeing all the great games listed above makes you realise what a great tradition we have.

It's a tough choice, but I would love to relive the 3-0 win v Exeter in 1972. Best atmosphere ever, closely followed by the Bournmouth game at Wembley.

Was at many of the games mentioned so far - do you remember how poor the facilities were at Stamford Bridge that cold and wet Harrods day when Fordie beat 'em?

Exeter '72 probably the best for my generation

Add to list:

second best: Coventry away FA Cup in 70-whenever.   Never seen so many away Town fans until the later Wembley days.  The Clee Grammar school busfull of Town fans got stuck in a traffic jam in Leicester, composed almost entirely of other Town coaches.   We woz robbed, btw.

Also one to remember: West ham Utd away in Cup, on freezing night in 95/96.  1 1 draw, phenomenal Town turnout - midweek too.  And topical banner and chant from us that amused the Hammers fans : "Free Arthur Fowler".  Beat them in the replay at BP, then out in next round vs Chelsea, Ruud Gullit version.
