I would have preferred Soares to start tonight. More attacking for a home game and possibly would have gone for Elding over Greg.

Wood keeps his place. Great....

No Miller in the squad - is this still due to his wife giving birth?

didn't you know Gary heading the ball as a keeper is a standard goal keeping technique i'm shocked you've never noticed before

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I know Artus had a decent mid to back end of last season, but given that Soares had such good reviews in pre-season I'm a bit surprised he's been left out, any views?

Pearson robs the ball from the keeper after he rolls it out without seeing him. Pearson pushes it too far and cocks it up!

Pretty drab first half so far. Only 1 real chance, Pearson should have buried it! We look pretty disjointed tbh but then that's to be expected with 6 new faces in the side I suppose.

1-1 Ridiculous. I remember Town teams that survived bombardments with numerous attempts on our goal. These days the first effort invariably goes in. Not very impressed, looks like another sluggish start to the season.

There are 9 other out field players who can score!

Don't rely on Hearn!

Any of them can score just prefer Hearn to do it, so he can get off to a good start compared to last season

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I'm sorry but this is fecking useless after going 1-0 up we collapse. Stupid mistakes giving free kicks away in dangerous areas. I know its only two games in and I'm not there, but ffs. I think the the managers really have to have a look at themselves. e.g they praise Soares saying he will be really good and then they put him on  the bench

we can't do this why do we just sit back after taking the lead, have them jogging on the beaches tomorrow at dawn till they collapse teach them to work hard till the very end to never stop running and to attack attack attack its what i do as an american football coach, work them hard till they get it or quit

What is this ridiculous mentality with our players! Score a goal, sit back, wait for the inevitable!

We didn't have an effort on goal after we scored. Best part of 25 minutes. Poor.

Grow a pair and get up at them again after taking the lead!

That was really, really poor tonight. Strikers hardly got any service, we didn't keep possession (especially after scoring) and rarely threatened their goal. Hoped for much more & would love to hear what Scott & Hurst say after that abysmal showing.
Think there will be a low attendance on Saturday.
Oh well, the season's started again !!

The bench was a pretty good one, 4 of them imo should be starting.  They are all better players than those selected above them. If Hearn wasnt fit, je should not be on the bench.

A proper first team out there, and we may get going, but we are already playing catch up, amd we know how long we took last season to even get within sniffing distance.

Expect Hearn and Elding to start Saturday, thats nothing against Pearson and Cook, but we have to start winning, optimism id fading fast

weve had this all before, john tondeur says it as it is and lots of morons blame him for yet another poor no-show by our "players"
nobody wants town to do well more than tondeur, when some of you lot have put in the personal sacrifices that bloke has to bring us commentary of the mariners then you can moan ok,until then pipe down muppets.

You wont find many bigger town fans than tondeur. . . Been to more games than probably anyone alive!

Maybe his doom and gloom reflected the predictable collapse he could forsee!!!??!!?!?!

Please feel free to have a pop at players, managers or lady luck but ffs leave the school  teacher and part time broadcaster out of it

Who said I was angry? I don't enjoy listening to Tondeur's commentary so I didn't listen to it. That's my personal preference.

Tondeur having been paid to attend countless Town games doesn't come in to it. I think I'd prefer listening to someone a bit more neutral. Tondeur lets his own personal opinions and emotions affect his commentary to the point where I have no idea what's going on in the game, except when Town have made "another poor pass/cross/tackle/decision".

Credit to his dedication etc. Personal opinion. You don't find him sanctimonious, others do. Get over it.

Agreed, fair play to him for going to watch town all the time, must be good to have a part time job and go see town everywhere and afford to, where as some of us cant, but the guy gets on my nerves, i don't know if he means to but it just seems to come across as if he enjoys the opposition scoring and getting on top obvious going to irterate people more as we ourselves get annoyed when town arnt doing so well.

urine poor defending by Tondeur. It's all his fault we capitulated again. Must be dropped for Saturday and replaced with the sprightly G.Kerr.

I imagine that's because, like every other dedicated Town supporter, he's had enough of Town being utterly flipping useless for the last 10 years.

Fair enough, I get that. But as a BBC broadcaster it's his responsibility to provide a balanced view of the game. In my opinion, which is obviously different to yours, he doesn't do that to the point that I don't enjoy listening to him. Each to their own and so on. Gone off topic.

I do feel for him having had to sit through the excrement of the last 10 years, home and away, week-in and week-out. Other people have shelled out £000s for that 'privilege', mind you. Scary.

TOO DEFENSIVE, LACKED KILLER INSTINCT, AND PEARSON SHOCKINLY NO GOOD WITH LONG BALL, BUT HEY ONLY 2 GAMES PLAYED, STILL PREDICT PLAY-OFF FINAL FINISH, 44 LEAGUE GAMES TO GO SO LET'S KEEP FAITH, UP THE MARINERS!!!

The last comment on here this thread from me, as I don't care what others think after just 2 games in 1 draw, 1 loss, still a very long way to go and anything can happen, anyone that think s/he knows the future, share the lotto numbers with me please, give you half of the winnings
