Okay lads and lasses, think back to to previous years, or this season if you like   which signings have we made that didn't impress you, annoyed you or even angered you, and by that I don't mind judging on how they played for us, just going by your reaction when we first signed them.

I'll start the ball rolling with a few....

*Clint Marcelle (absolutley pointless signing, we had adequate strikers, he looked old and slow in his trial but we signed him)

*Richard Hope (was going down hill, and I remember the rumour circulating around here for a couple of weeks before he signed, it seemed the majority of us wern't impressed with him when it was a rumour let alone when we signed him)

*Anthony Williams (Relegated in 03/04, we had lost Davison, not considered Fettis and were looking at a straight return to League One, and we went and signed Hartlepool's sub keeper, admist reports he was crap anyway..the rest is history)

*Chris Williams & Paul Robinson (two utter pointless loan signings in 04/05, and it was the other Paul Robinson, not the ginger ex Newcastle striker)

*Simon Grand (not the answer to our defensive worries, panic signing)

*Lee Thorpe (The thought of being a Championship relegated club struggling in League One, and panic loaning a League Two striker, and Lincoln cast off didn't give me any confidence for our survival)

*Willie Falconer (did we need him? did we use him? past it has been, utterly pointless at the time of signing)

*Matthew Bloomer (Local lad, really nice bloke, didn't make the grade first team round, wasn't exactly a world beater at Hull or Lincoln, so to sign a player back who didn't cut the mustard first time around didn't impress me)

*Terry Barwick (A friend of mine who is a Scunny season ticket holder told me this guy wasn't good enough to lace Beagrie's boots, he had played 2 games in 04/05 for Scunny and wasn't injured, and to make him our first signing of 05/06 wasn't inspiring)

*Terry Fleming (Old journeyman League Two midfielder, nothing more than a gap filler in the squad)

*Neil Webb (Ex United, Ex Forest, Ex England, but had been reported he had lost his legs long before we gave him a contract)

Peter "flipping" Beagrie.

And going back in the annals of time Terry Curran.

Elding, the definition of lower league journey man striker on his way down. Went completely against the usual S&H signings.

He did a lot better than I thought he would last season.

Didn't think he was a bad signing for the Conference, had a half decent goal scoring rate.

I wasn't as mortified as most when we signed Beagrie, probably due to his main role being as part of the coaching staff, I thought at 40 years old, he could act as cover, and an experienced head for the squad on the training field. I overlooked he came from Scunny, obviously the rest is history

Widely hailed as the missing part of the jigsaw when he signed. I thought he would do well.

I remember Steve Mildenhall coming to us with nothing but poor reviews from other fans, didn't County fans call him "Mildenflap"?

Neil woods. Not as a player though. Talk about not impressing during your trial!

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!
