We might as well have a bit of fun after the strain of watching the premier league nervous finish between the two Manchester clubs.
It might have been done before but the question is this
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE INDIVUEL G.T.F.C. GOAL.

Mine was when Town were playing Brighton away and at that time Brian Clough was manager after having fell out with Peter Taylor at Derby. Jack Lewis who had tremendous pace and skill control picked the ball up from goalkeeper Harry Wainman took of with all of us chasing him in support went the full length of the pitch and slotted the ball in the net.

I could not believe it what a great goal, but the ref disallowed the goal for some unknown reason, but I am still counting it.
That was the best goal I have seen with Town, can anybody remember a really special goal.

If this has been done before pleas accept my apoligies.

I remember once when Ronnie Bull hit the ball on the volley from 45 yards out. It went out for a throw-in but I'm still going to count it.

Round about 1966, a bullet Matt Tees header against Workington from the edge of the area.
Also a volley by Mike Czuczman in the mid-seventies against Watford or Crystal Palace ?

Des Hazel away at Portsmouth. Picked the ball up just outside his own area and ran the whole length of the pitch beating about half a dozen Pompey players on the way.

Jim Dobbin scored a great goal against someone at home. Beat 2 men before curling the ball into the top corner.
Another was Tommy Widdringtons volley from 30 yards v QPR. Cant remember dates though.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Although he didn't end up scoring it but Kevin Donovan at Chesterfield in Auto Windscreens '98.  Great box to box sprint with the ball then picked Groves with the cross for him to score a great volley from the edge of box.  I remember thinking at the time I'd never see a better goal for Town and it's still true.  So far.

Joe Waters, from the kick off. About 7 seconds to score, think it might have been against Cambridge?
