If you did not support town and had no allegiance to any team, who would you CHOOSE to support and why ?
I would choose Arsenal because of the fast flowing football they play plus a great stadium,

I hope you're the patient type then because the waiting list for a season ticket is 10 years and it's going to cost about £1500 a season.

If I lived in a Village or somewhere remote, I would support the nearest league team to where I was born I guess, it's all down to loyalty to me, to support Manchester Utd or Liverpool to me, may as well support Germany!
I hope you're the patient type then because the waiting list for a season ticket is 10 years and it's going to cost about £1500 a season.
Honest question, how does that work then? are they only allowed by some rulling to have a % of the ground allocated to season tickets, or is all the home seating reserved for season tickets. Sounds like Arsenal need to expand their stadium even more . . . ?

Clubs are only allowed to sell some many % of their ground to season ticket holders, and similarly to away fans...as for the 10 year wait thing, its bollox, season tickets come up regularly, just some people are picky and for the price i can understand that...you may wait 2-3 years but the time spans they give are always inflated so people are not too disappointed.
As for supporting someone else had it not been town, i don't know, may be the nearest team to me which is currently Lincoln but if i was still at home then it would have to be our caravanning friends down the 180

My nephews have been on the waiting list for 8 years and even though they live in Highbury they go and watch Fulham or Charlton most Saturdays. Oh! and they wouldn't care how much they paid.

They won the championship ONCE in the 1970's! Hardly a ringing endorsement of 'ruling the roost' despite kicking their way to a win here and there. Probably the fore runners of the term professionalism (or cheating illegitimates)

I don't think i would be into football at all as it was going to my first town game that got me into the sport in the first place as up till then i thought of it as nothing more then something that every now and again meant my dad had control of the tele and i would submit it and that it was useful for getting me out of class when the world cup or European Cup was on and England were playing
But if i also think about it i may of ended up as a Scunny fan or a Port vale fan depending on who would of influenced me more

Having worked with numerous clubs in the ticketing industry the only clubs that seem to genuinely have a long waiting list for season tickets are Arsenal and Liverpool, on which you would be waiting ten years minimum. United do spin various yarns about a very limited number of season tickets being available every season and a huge waiting list but the last few seasons have shown that if you want a season ticket at Old Trafford you can get one.

Believe it or not, probably Scunny. I'm a big believer of Frank Skinners theory that when choosing a team you should put your finger on a map and make ever increasing circles until you come to your first league team. Hull is slightly nearer that Scunny but as The Humber Bridge was not built back then I would probably have chosen Scunny though I'd like to actually think that if there was no GTFC I would have maybe chosen Lincoln.

Difficult question. How do you approach it? Wind the clock back to when you started supporting Town and pick a team on what you would've done then? Pick someone according to what you think now?
I'm tempted to let my lad have a say. I've foisted encouraged him to support Town and it's not been a great 6 years. The only worry is if he said ManU or Chelsea. Hopefully I've brought him up right and he won't!

Choice of four for me:
- Be a football gypsy and follow my glory teams all over the world. Currently that would mean the French league 1, with the risk of soon dropping down to the nether regions of French football
or
- Aston Villa, because I liked them when I was a young kid
or
- one or both of the Sheffield teams, for reasons best kept to myself
or
- whoever Martin O'Neill ends up with, as long as it's not Leeds.

I'd support whoever was top of the premiership this week.....
I thought i'd back Man Utd today. Even watching that I got frustrated and wondered if it was me that is causing the bad fortune. Turned it off after the free kick and then felt miffed off that i'd missed the Utd's 3rd goal. Can't bloody win...

I follow Brentford as well having lived around there for a long time. Off to watch them the day before Kidderminster away.
