That might have beem the same game because i seem to recall it was a night game that we eventually won 2-1, when the 3 sendings off happened. Whittle in particular was very wound up and allison, with fedora, wasnt a happy bunny!
I think Jim Lumby got one of the goals that night?
The Palace match with the big fight was April 1975, we won 2-1 in the end, but Whittle and Czuczman definitely got sent off, and I think you're right, it was Jim Cannon, too. That was a violent match full of needle.

The temptation is too great and no offence meant Ron but Those that get on the pitch from the Nunny these days aren't as good.
You may be right Icey. Perhaps they don't have the encouragement and coaching they used to get. The ones that actually kick footballs as opposed to advertising boards I mean.

Getting to Burnley late one season after being held up in a jam on the M62 and asking a traffic warden where I could park easily. Parked where he told me only to find out I'd got a parking ticket when I got back to the car.

fentyatemyhamster brought up some awful memeories on another thread mentioning the '252 club' of which i am a fully paid up member, the horror of that night in hartlepool will never be forgotten and my most vivid memory is my hull supporting mates ringing me after the game from a night out and enquiring about the score, it was an embarrassing time to be a town fan when you throw in the other away drubbings we got that season. Were you in the 252?

Standing on the open terrace at Brisbane Road holding a black and white blow up zebra on April Fools Day watching Town get spanked 5-0 by Leyton Orient helped by a hat-trick from a young Kevin Campbell who was on-loan from Arsenal at the time.

I was there that day but it didn't really register as that much of a bad result....end of season ish performance where despite the goings on out on the pitch, from what I recall it was a pleasant enough day. Can't imagine Buckley was that pleased though! Actually going back a bit further, it was a bit like the thumping I saw us get at Cambridge at the end of the 80-81 season....despite the goals raining in, still a good day out

Now then.
Gary Childs' 30 yarder against Hull in the league cup, must've been 89? And I think he did it again the following week against league opposition.
Gordon Hobson's individual goal against Norwich. We won 1-0. Norwich then signed him. 86/87? Always thought that division two football came a bit too late for him. Awesome player.
Getting stuffed 4-0 at Ipswich in the FA Cup. Probably 92/93? A thoroughly miserable afternoon.
