v Middlesbrough, circa 1985. We won 3-2 and a certain Brian Laws played for Boro. I still have the programme somewhere. I was 13 and all I recall that day were the wire fences in place at that time.

Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

I can understand that those were the days when footballers had to work but it must have caused some hassle for the fans with the missus regards the Christmas dinner.

If I recall it was a late morning kick off but all the blokes were drunk anyway so few got home in a fit state to eat lunch even if it was timed for 2 or 3 pm, most of them at the back of the Barratt had bottles of whisky or rum in their overcoat pockets.

Quite funny at full time as many 100s if not 1000s had arrived by bike!

We played the return game on 27th December at Bramall Lane and lost that 2-1 as well

Could you imagine that today? They'd all be in the back of a black maria after trying to enter the ground.

I have absolutely no idea. It was in the 90's, I just remember people shouting, "Come on Smithy", not sure which player seeing as there was a few Smiths around that time
