I didn't know him personally but deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Every time I read a story like this it makes me count my blessings that my brain tumour was not cancerous.

Nasty, nasty disease that is not fussy who it takes and the sooner a cure can be found the better.

I knew Piers  and liked him ,  he occasionally played for New Waltham in the Sunday League a few years ago when I was there. This has come as a bit of a shock. My thoughts are with his family. He was a great bloke.

Two days after my bro died we won at Torquay.

Not much consolation but he was a Town fan and it gave me my only smile that week.

My condolences to his family and friends. Didn't know him but it makes us think how lucky we all are to be here.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred,jealousy,boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.
