In the first ten games ALL sides have dropped at least 11 points put of 30 (nearly 4 defeats in 10 games for each team).

There are no stand out teams so far this season so should make it an interesting season.

Hopefully, Town will hover in or about the playoff places.

Someone mentioned yesterday that we were 4 points off 1st and I had to immediately check the table as it surely couldn't have been correct, but I can confirm that having lost 5 games and conceded 17 goals in the process, we are indeed 4 points off the top. Madness.

In my opinion, last season the standard of the division generally was pretty garbage other than the three automatically promoted sides who were probably the strongest three sides collectively to finish in the top three spots that I can remember in this division since we dropped down in 2004.

Early days yet for this season so far, but it feels like the standard of the division has improved a bit in general terms and as we no longer have Wrexham, Stockport and Mansfied there is more of a competitiveness and a sense that the division is wide open. It feels like a much more interesting division this season. 4 points separating the top 10 after 10 matches bodes well for it being a close season.

Every manager is trying to be Pep. Nobody can defend properly. As a spectacle for the neutral, 4th division football is more entertaining than ever.

It has been a strange season so far , fans are still divided on Artell but most of the discussions on here early season said give him 10 games before you make your judgement.
I honestly think most fans would have taken our position now at the start of the season.
Our inability to do basic defending is a major worry, but to my surprise we’re scoring and creating more than I thought, given the failure to sign a decent striker to back up Rose.
It’s frustrating in terms of what could have been if we didn’t give away silly goals , but we’ve won 5 and lost 5. I said at the start of the season we won’t see many 0-0’s under Artell , if we win half of our matches over the course of the season we won’t be far off !

Any sort of result at Salford will leave us with the opportunity to go level on points or better with top of the table Walsall if we beat them the following weekend as their game against Bromley on Saturday is postponed  due to international call ups.

Crawley showed last season that you don't need to be amazing to get promoted. Without double checking, I'm sure they only won a couple of games more than they lost but didn't draw many, which is a similar trajectory to what we're currently taking.

I'm not thinking about promotion, I'll just be happy if we're not looking over our shoulders, but we have a run of 'easier' games around December time. Do well then and you never know where we might end up.

Lots of things can get in the way of a promotion season .
It could be injuries, changing room fall outs, playing certain teams at the right time , fixture backlogs etc etc .
Really good teams will overcome all of these anyway but every year or two there's a team that just gets lucky with all of the above.
