Yeah we have since the 2000s , we used to get some great friendly's in the 90s , home and away.

That's it in a nutshell. Really difficult to get 'decent' opposition to come here as they're all touring somewhere. The downturn in the quality of our pre-season games also ties in with our decline to and stagnation in the fourth/fifth tier. Not really likely to be deemed a valuable friendly for Prem/Championship sides.

We went to Spain and played two games last year to be fair.

That's a point. When does our tour of the Far East begin? There's a whole new market for stripey shirts to be opened up over there.
