Hopefully we will be in it, the 2nd round draw is on Sky Sports on Wednesday evening straight after the Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland game, for those interested. 13 Premier league teams will be in the hat, with the other 7 teams joining in the 3rd round.

Ok I've just looked it up it's regionalised in round 2 still. Sorry to all the red crossers that clearly look into more detail than myself.

They celebrated like they had won the League Cup for some bizarre reason.

Newcastle away probably best from a cash perspective, they’re bound to become the darlings of sky because of rich owners, plus they’ll have 25k+ even against a league 2 side.  To progress I would think Rochdale at home.  Whoever it is the reward will be better than winning the FA trophy.

It'll definitely be a mix of Forest reserves and youths, most clubs don't care about cup competitions anymore, even clubs at our level. I wonder if Jesse Lingard had a clause in his rumoured 200 grand a week contract that he doesn't have to play against any club below the Premier? The games's gone.

Still hope it's a full house, on telly and a giant killing mind.

This is also true. I think I had visions of beating someone like Rochdale comfortably at home in the next round before finally getting that draw at the Theatre of Screams. Town/Man U must be up there for the record number of years clubs have spent together in the football league without having played one another. And some mammary inevitably bangs on about it every season (my turn). I imagine they're just as keen for it! 😂

Anyway, Forest is a cracking draw,, really looking forward to it. Living in Lincoln, got a few mates who are Forest fans so the build up should be decent

We’ve played Manchester United 42 times in the league, and once in the FA Cup. The problem is that the last time was in 1947/48 so for most people it feels as though we’ve never played them.

Just a massive weight lifted from their shoulders. We haven’t started the league as expected, the coupled with losing to Barrow on the 97th minute, the lads needed a decent performance and their first win.

Nothing wrong with celebrating a win against a decent Hull team.

If you want to see a proper celebration in this competition, you only have to go back to 2013 when we reached the final.

FFS I can't stay quiet any longer,it's bloody NOTTINGHAM Forest that you are playing not chuffing NOTTS Forest (wallbash)

Even so i will keep my fingers crossed that you beat the great unwashed from the wrong side of the Trent though (thumbup2)

The good thing about calling Notts Forest “Notts Forest” is it annoys both sets of fans from either side of the Trent.
At least we don’t have to play Nottingham County this season.

This really is an easy wind up to notts fans isn’t it. I have an associate who is a notts forest fan, boils his blood too. 😂

I suppose it’s the equivalent of every fckin wnker south of Notts assuming we’re Yorkies.

Now that really does kidney stone my urethra.

My grandad is a Forest supporter and fears the worst. Been coming with me to town games for the last season and a bit so need to sort out whether he's sitting with the away fans or with me and my son 😂
