Feels strange this preseason as normally at this time of year there is normally rumours flying around about who we are signing etc.
Used to be good to break the monotony even if most where laughable.

Is it nearly that time to get started?

I don’t think we will see a signing until we have a start date for next season. Not a rumour... just my gut feeling!

IH Confirms Clarke & Vernam won't be with us next season.

Was bit disappointed in both, until i read the article.
This guy knows what to say, and just builds you with so much confidence in what he wants to do here.

Hope it really works out how everyone wants it to!

Its utterly ridiculous we couldn't keep someone that we had an option on >:(

With literally all clubs up and down the leagues releasing players Im sure their is a decent list of quality players Holloway has an eye on. Shame about losing Vernam but there is an abundance of  players that can fill up our squad.

See it this way, there is more space now for Hollloway to make his mark on this squad.

That’s very true but I guess it’s better to let him go than keep him against his will when he probably wouldn’t perform anyway. I think he may well regret it though because I can’t help thinking that for starters we are potentially a bigger club than Burton and secondly very soon we’ll be above them hopefully. UTM

I bet he’s doubled his wages if not tripled them signing for those giants of the game , short career can’t blame him and it appears we didn’t try very hard hard to keep him

Interesting to read Ollie's opinion on CV.

“It is very similar with Charles – I love that he played so wonderfully well for a few games while I was in charge."

Obviously not that blown away with CV other than for those few games. Maybe he didn't put him on top of the pedestal as much as we thought he had.

Burton resigned 3 players earlier this month, and when announced, they said they all took a significant pay cut

Surely this is the summer we swoop for one of Andy Bishop or Damian Reeves

Will be the first time in ages, in which i am excited about potential loan signings.

Any top league manager will surely want to send to IH, especially based on the success of the one's we had last season

Ollie has many contacts so I can see a few loan players coming in when we do manage to start the season.

Ollie to look at tapping into foreign talent and the academies of top domestic clubs as he puts together his Town squad for 2020/21.

I know we have to accept football is going to be different, i know the club has to run either within its means or within the limits that someone will sanction the extra bill for. When running a business getting the product you want as cheap as possible makes good business sense but having two statements released  with  "will hardly cost us a bean"  and "offered reduced terms of 25%" hardly sets the pulse racing when i think of building a winning side.

time will tell.

It possible the best time to have Mr Holloway at the helm, has the contacts and knowledge how to work the system.
Just becuase other teams are throwing cash at bringing in new players, it does not guarantee success and make them good players.

"Burnley loaned us two fantastic young players last season for very little money", surely this is the more sensible approach, in these difficult and challenging times, and actually use our own youth players as well, with a bit of experience.

I would rather go down this route, then spending our budget on players at the end of their careers or players not committed to Mr Holloway's vision for the future.

I am sure we will see some good young talent in the black and white of Grimsby Town, when we evenually start again.

There’s 800 out of contract players so I’m not too worried about sorting a decent squad out . There will be some decent players in L2 next season I’d guess

There is a big difference in signing young players from a Premier League club and our Youth players to play in the first team.
