Not sure if this has already been put out there but I thought I would see if on the Woking fans forum what they thought about Limbrick. As he is probably a candidate for the job on a full time basis. Not many comments but here are a few:

"Good luck to him. For his sake, I hope Grimsby don’t end up selling there best players next month."

"Can't wait for the post match interviews"

"I just hope for everyone’s sake that;
-they have a pair of centre backs who can pass the football!
-a fan base who can put up with hearing the same story no matter what the performance or result
-league referees and linesman who are hard of hearing for fear or being in earshot of his constant bemoaning of all decisions throughout the 90 minutes.

But most of all I do hope he manages to keep you in the League! I know what I’m placing a bet on right now..."

Make of that what you will. But at least post match interviews might be interesting again.  ;D

Think Limbrick will get 8-10 games unless it is a disastrous I.e. winless period then he might go earlier.

If you go back to the Q&A with limbrick and Jolley they both said how they work as a team and lean on each other for ideas which leads me to one conclusion, limbrick was as much the problem as Jolley himself...
To me he should've have followed hot on Jolleys heels and been shown the door.....
He did nothing with Woking yet the following year, under a new manager, they all but stormed the league..says it all imho..

I seem to recall at one stage Woking were 3rd under Limbricks stewardship and playing some excellent stuff, I do also recall some people touting him to be our new manager at one stage, however things fell away badly when he lost his best players by all accounts before getting relegated shortly after Limbricks departure.

Didn’t want Jolley sacked. But if that’s the route they’ve taken then they need to get someone new in whilst we’re in a comparatively ok position. Limping along with an assistant doesn’t work.

I always feel that an assistant, rightly or wrongly, will be tainted by the previous manager's failure. He was part of the set up. Either he failed to impose himself and get his voice heard, or he was instrumental in the failed selection/tactics/system of play. Limbrick will need to pick his words carefully during his first few interviews.

It's a completely different set up at Woking which is a part time club and many players had other jobs besides playing football. Limbrick deserves the chance at Town and knows the players and had over a year to work alongside some of them. He has the benefit of knowing everyone and he must have a few ideas at the back of his mind that he's not been allowed to try out. He deserves the first chance. We have some good young players and keeping them together is important.

Has the previous manager failed though? Some sackings he clearly has, but in Jolley's case it's not that clear cut.

I think he should be given a go., I really don't think we are in danger of going down let's see how he does in the next few games.

I would think the next week will be interesting from a supporters point of view

Football is all about opinions but since the start of his first full season in charge against FGR how many entertains matches has there been?, how often have we played any football or seen one of our players take on and beat one of the opposition? When was the last time we dominated possession and had the opposition camped in their own half?

When anyone really considers what MJ achieved out on the pitch the real answer is very little and as I said in a previous post I am astonishing at how many fans are upset by his termination. We all want all the managers appointed to succeed as that means town are doing well and MJ did so much right off the pitch, at least in the eyes of us fans but in some ways this disguised his ability to identify and play a style of football that first gets more wins than defeats and second is worth getting down to BP to watch.

In my mind the right call and we move on.

Very sensible post, completely agree.

No, I personally don't feel has failed. Just highlighting the difficulties Limbrick will encounter.

That said, I am actually glad he has gone as I failed to see any consistent style of play. On a real base level, very rarely did I feel entertained for my 20 quid.

I might be wrong but I think Woking sold many of their better players from under Limbrick. I think they got relegated and then came back from Nat. League South. It's never quite straightforward...

Think you will find that due to the media coaching they get on the FA courses they nearly all spout the same old bland spiel, it's the nay your older ones like Warnock etc that sometimes go off track.

You are right Barra, they did sell their best players but, as I say, in my opinion I am weary of what limbrick can offer, hope he does okay because the one thing he seems to have is bucket loads of positivity and always comes across well in interviews...but have reservations and will hold them until he proves me wrong..

It can't have been that bland!
