Is it really upon us already ? How quick have the memories of a seemingly easy win against Crewe followed up by a jelly and ice cream party as Scunny went down like a Russian submarine faded ?
With one more sleep to go until we step aboard the rollercoaster of hope that is GTFC i wish you all well for the season, after all that is what it is ...a hope...no expectations...Man City fans can expect something but we followers of the black and white hope...for excitement, to win more than we lose, to be entertained, to be proud of the team that wears the badge...and that is why we follow...hope is a powerful drug.
Whilst i am sure we will argue, will see things differently, will voice our opinions vehemently , we will no doubt laugh and probably be angered at some point this season we will all have the same feeling in our stomachs tomorrow before kick off, we all want the same thing...success somewhere in some form and hopefully that starts tomorrow in a fellow seaside town.
All the best fellow fishies and come what May...UTM.

We all grumble and we moan but we wouldn’t have it any other way - we are all Grimsby Town

Let’s do what we do and support our team up and down this country and always be proud of who we are

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day till the end of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few,we happy few,
We band of brothers.

Good luck to Michael Jolley and the team for a brilliant season that ends in promotion. Me and the Missus will be with you every step of the way, at each and every away ground, as well as at home, hoping and praying that this is the season that takes us back to where we belong. To all you travelling Mariners fans, I wish you all a safe journey to each match and back and a great day out knowing that you are the best fans in the country. How can we fail ? UTM

The older we get the shorter the summer seems . When I was a young un in Louth, the break seemed to take forever. It’s the anticipation and hope that this will be a good season that keeps us going .

"I don't want to get any messages saying, 'I am holding my position.' We are not holding a goddamned thing. Let the Germans do that. We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living excrement out of him all of the time. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy."

Not exactly Shakespeare but I thought a bit of General Patton was a suitable call to arms for my fellow Mariners. Let’s have a good un.

It's the hope that kills you. My 6 year old said to
me, as he fell asleep last night: ' I'm pretty sure we're going to get promoted this season Daddy'. I hope that dream stll feel realistic this time tomorrow.

It would be boring if we won every game.much better not to know if we will win lose or draw.                                                 We are town and we will support the team whatever happens . Utm

It would be nice if just once we could put that theory to the test

And that is why I prefer lower league football.More real and how football use to be when it use to rely on fans gate receipts as opposed to billionaire chairmen who pump in money from abroad giving clubs a unfair advantage.

My 4 year old is only interested in wearing her pink town shirt and whether there will be donkeys at the “new seaside” today 😂

I love the first day of the football season, even at my age I get excited by the prospect of success
Also by 17:00 tonight we’ll have a much clearer view of how the next 8 months of our lives are likely to pan out
Remember saying that to my son as we strolled to Cheltenham to see newells aces in2008!!
