Basically it says what people have already mentioned.
He is 23, has been at 'Orebro' since 2013 and has played 23 matches for the 'Black and whites' this season in the Allsvenskan (=  the top Swedish league).
Supposedly he has rejected a 3 year deal in Sweden for 18 months at Town. They also mention Jolley's connection to Sweden.
BUT - they seem to have a lot of their info from the Telegraph (including the fact he visited Grimsby).

I work in Stockholm so I asked a colleague about him last week. He didn't know him very well but from what he had seen/remembered, he thought he was okay. For me, a young player who is okay in the Swedish top League sounds very positive - especially with our current defensive problems.

Fingers crossed the rumours are true and he does a good job at Town  :)

No, only if he was under 24 and moving to another Swedish club. If true, he'll be joining us on a Bosman free transfer.

Ring has sign to Grimsby according to the newspaper Expressen. I happening to know that Örebro has sign a new defender from another club in Sweden, so maybee it is a true.

The deal is One and a half year according to Expressen the newspaper. Örebro has sign a new defender Daniel Björkman from THE club BK Forward . Don't expect that Ring is fully fit. Because our league ended in begining of november.

Google translation....

Sebastian Ring, 23, is in place in England to finish with English Grimsby Town, the SportExpressen can reveal.

According to SportExpressen's tasks, Ring has won a three-year agreement with ÖSK to move to England instead.

Sebastian Ring, 23, has belonged to Örebro since 2013 and during the year has played 25 allsvenskan matches for the black and white club.

But with an outgoing contract, Ring has taken the opportunity to look around and before Christmas, Grimsby Telegraph reported that Ring visited the English League Two club Grimsby Town, right now in 14th place in the table.

A Grimsby Town that has former AFC coach Michael Jolley as head coach.-----

Sebastian Ring ready for Grimsby Town
- I have contacts in Sweden. I know him, Jolley told Grimsby Telegraph on December 19.

Now the SportExpress can reveal that Sebastian Ring is again in place in England. This time to sign up for the club, something that can become clear in the next few days.

According to SportExpressen's tasks, the agreement is 1.5 years. Ring has also chosen to nobba a three-year agreement with Örebro to instead move to England.

Sorry, I don't know what a NOBBA is. ;)

Ah I see even though he's under 24 because of different leagues no compo is required but only when transferring to a team in the same league (same country).

Taken from official gtfc

Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to announce that it has agreed a deal to sign Swedish attacking left-back, Sebastian Ring subject to International clearance and passing a medical.

Michael Jolley has moved quickly before the opening of the January transfer window by securing the services of the 23-year-old, who joins The Mariners on an 18 month contract after almost 6 years at his home town side, Orebro SK in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Ring appeared in most of the club's fixtures last season and helped the club to finish 9th with 35 points last season. Ring was offered a new deal, but rejected the offer in order to join GTFC.

Speaking exclusively to gtfc.co.uk, Ring discussed his move, his delight to move to England and what he is like as a player. "I have spent my entire life in Orebro, a town in Sweden and played for the club almost 6 years, but I am very happy to be here in England and experience a new adventure", said Ring.

"I am a left-footed left back. I feel that I am good with the ball, I have good technique and although i'm not so tall, I feel that I am good in the air and can fight for the ball. I also like to get forward and get crosses in with my left foot."

"Last season was pretty good for me I think", explained Ring. "I have developed very much as a player in the last year and I think I will become a better player playing in English football. Last year it was a little bit up and down, but I feel that I had my best year last year".

Manager, Michael Jolley has first hand experience with Ring, after his spell in Sweden managing AFC Eskilstuna. "We are excited to bring Sebastian to Grimsby Town and we look forward to working with him", said Jolley.

"At just 23, he is still a young player but one with significant experience in Allsvenskan. We will give Sebastian the support and time necessary to adjust to life in England, but we are confident that during the term of his contract, he can help the team move forward. Welcome to Grimsby, Sebastian".

Ring spoke highly of the manager, something he says was important in his decision to move from his home town. "I know the manager from last year, he was manager of Eskilstuna and he learned a bit about me from his time there. He told me a lot of good things about the club and the area. My agent and I visited a few weeks ago and now I am just very happy to be here!"

Ring will meet up with his new team mates today as they travel to Exeter ahead of tomorrow's Sky Bet League Two game, something he is excited ahead of. "I met the team when I visited the area before but it'll be great to see them all again", said Ring. "I will travel with the team today and we will train at Birmingham before heading to Exeter. I will watch the game and hopefully we can bring home the 3 points with us!"

LYRICS
I'm glad you're home
Now did you really miss me?
I guess you did by the look in your eye
(Look in your eye, look in your eye)
Well lay back and relax
While I put away the dishes (put away the dishes)
Then you and me can rock a bell
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
The night is young
And full of possibilities
Well, come on and let yourself be free, yeah
My love for you (love for you, love for you)
So long I've been savin'
Tonight was made for me and you
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ring-a-ring-a-ring)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ding-dong-ding)
You can ring my bell, ring my bell
(Ring my bell, ring-a-ring-a-ring)
You can ring my bell
You can ring my bell
(Ding, dong, ding, ah-ah, ring it)
You can ring my bell, anytime, anywhere
(Ring it, ring it, ring it, ring it, ow)
You can ring my bell, you can ring my bell
(Ding, dong, ding, ah-ah, ring it)
You can ring my bell, anytime, anywhere
(Ring it, ring it, ring it, ring it, ow)

Like virtually everyone else on here, I know next to nothing about this lad. However, it’s worth trying to put into some context the level he’s been playing at.

First off, average attendances in the Swedish Allsvenskan were around 8,500 last season; comparable with around 4,200 in League Two and 8,200 in League One (which is skewed somewhat by Sunderland’s huge home crowds for that level). There are some big clubs in there; Ring features in this game (#19) in front of what looks to be a 25,000+ crowd:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=EvZsn055pJU

It’s by no means a pub league. I couldn’t find the very latest stats on this, but the Allsvenskan ranks around the 24th best league in Europe based on the generally well respected ELO ranking system - well above both the SPL and League One:

https://forum.insidesport.com.au/2402354/European-football-League-rankings

In terms of club rankings, again not necessarily a perfect science, but this list has Orebro at 486 in the world, some 100 or so positions ahead of Town and just ahead of Peterborough:

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/global-club-soccer-rankings/

On the face of it then, it looks like we’re getting a player who was a first team regular and offered a three year deal at a club of a decent League One standard. Ultimately, a number of factors will determine how successful young Seb is here, not least how he copes with playing away from his home country for the first time, however he certainly shouldn’t be overawed or out of his depth in League Two. Far from it in fact.

Looks very promising.
