Eyewitnesses claim that the helicopter burst into violent flames within a second of crashing. Awful.

They won’t release all the names until next of kin have been informed. Terrible tragedy, just fortunate the helicopter came down in the car park and did not hit any houses or occupied buildings.

Pilot apparently managed to direct the helicopter out of the way of the car parks and hit the wasteland. Hero.

It’s just so sad. For a club to upset the odds back in 15/16 and really excite the nation, to witness this is gutting for any person regardless of their interest in football.

Watching the news reports last night and today and it just felt like I was watching an episode of Dream Team. It’s unfathomable that something like this has happened.

Whether or not you like them you have to say their owner moved them forward massively on and off the pitch and should be remembered for that.

I’m not sure it will be made public until the rossers can rule out that it’s not a crime scene (110% sure it’s not BTW) which looking at the pics on the news might take some specialists a while to do.

Just a shame for everyone involved and the families and friends of the other passengers who appear to have perished.

The identities of the victims won’t be released until all next of kin are informed and happy for the names to be released to the public. The coppers/AIIB might not officially be calling it a crime scene but it effectively will be as every single piece of wreckage will be analysed. I have been involved with air accidents before. It’s a horrible few days for engineers and fellow crew members so I can’t begin to imagine how the families of the victims feel.

It is such a horrible twist to the recent history of Leicester City. The ultimate of highs when winning the league and reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League to this. I’d say they became a lot of people’s ‘second team’ during that period when they were shocking the big boys.

???
In cases like this confusion reins especially trying to confirm the facts.
Reuters reported that the daughter was on board while the BBC said they ""understood" the manager was too.
Also reports that the pilot guided the aircraft away from endangering the public-the latest CCTV shows it dropping literally from the sky.
Absolutely no chance of manoeuvring it anywhere.
Poor souls were doomed. :o

I have a fear of flying but this hasn't helped......tragic......

"The helicopter crash which killed the chairman of Leicester City and four other people was caused by a pin that had come loose in the tail rotor control mechanism, a report has revealed."
