Tickets selling quickly.... limited apparently because they're building a new stand.
Posted by: Ipswin, October 25, 2018, 7:46pm; Reply: 1

Panis stations!

It's not going to be all ticket surely (I hope)

The away end is already a new stand (unless they've moved us)

Can someone please confirm it will still be possible to pay on the gate?

Thanks

I think it's spelt with an 'e', not an 'a'.

Just done some research and I can't see that either - probably just sent us 600 for starters - are you going Pete?

Purple palaces. Panis [sic.] stations. Has this board suddenly gone homoerotic?

Buy before from GTFC - we pocket the some of the cash as mentioned on Cod Almighty! If bought on the day, we get nothing.

The usual away support stand must hold 12 to 1500, so why not send the full amount and have Town return any unsold ones, or is it a sly way of stopping Town making a bit on the tickets sales.

Probably because Town wouldn't send the unsolds back in time for them to be available on the day and I want to pay on the day as the last time I ordered tickets from BP they didn't arrive until two days after the game

I was there for their game v Mk Dons, who took 950. It was the usual stand so we should be fine. Couldn’t see any work going on?

I have arranged this year as last year,

             RAILWAY VUE,
             163, STATION ROAD, IMPINGTON (HISTON), CB24 9NP

              OPENING AT 11.15

Coming by road you have to virtually go through Impington/Histon and is the best bet as you cannot drive into the  town centre.

There are no watering holes open near to the ground. Those going by train will find 2 new venues at
the rebuilt station. 2 minute walk is the Salisbury Arms, Tennison Road and for Real Ale fans, the
Cambridge Blue, Gwyder Street.

As above ( having pressed the wrong button)

The Railway Vue does food and like last year will make a donation to the Mariners Trust

Hope this is helpful. See you there. UTMM.

Is there a bus service from the train station to the stadium?
If I remember rightly from last season it was a 30/45 min power walk otherwise

Is the Histon Red Lion no longer the home of Histon Mariners? Went there a fortnight ago and there's still the Town badges up around the building

The bus is the number 3 - just turn left out of the station and you can see the bus stops. Mind you it takes 30 minutes to get there through the traffic. Cambridge is packed on Saturdays

Takes even longer to get back afterwards!

Lots of decent pubs off Mill road, which are within walking distance to the ground. Cambridge Blue, as mentioned above is a highlight. I'd also consider The Petersfield Arms, The Empress, the Kingston Arms, all off mill road. Spoons and town are a bit out of the way. Last time I drank in town before the game I ended up getting a taxi, think its the best bet.

The previous landlord was the Town fan, I think he moved on a couple of years ago.

Still a good pub, but I guess when it next gets painted up all of the GTFC stuff will go

At a wild guess I reckon that might have been the Fishy poster, Histon Mariner?

The Red Lion WAS the home of the Histon Mariners before I sold it in June 2018. Last year I tried to make arrangements for the B&W Army but was told we were not “really wanted”. Therefore I arranged with the RAILWAY VUE as above, where we are welcome. This really is the best option for those travelling by road.

There are plenty of good pubs but Cambridge but there are none open within 25-30 minutes of the ground.

I’ve posted this on the basis of local knowledge. I had the pub in Histon for 23 years - l am not in the industry anymore and will be at the Railway Vue simply as a paying customer.

Onwards and upwards, UTMM.

Late swerve from train to car means I will aim for the Railway Vue. Two spaces in car from Sheffield going spare. Approx 9.00 a.m. start.
