Andy Todd - brilliant player he was. One of the best I’ve  seen play for us.

On the basis that Todd was here 5 mnutes it has to be Peter Handyside for me

Andy Todd - a class apart

If we are selecting the "best team" then it has to be Todd 100%.

Wasn't Futch usually No 4?
Posted by: The_Laughing_Mariner, May 29, 2018, 11:25am; Reply: 7
MMM difficult because half are central defenders and half are centre mids.
Futch was probably pre fishy.
Looking at the centre mids it shows where our problems have been over the last 20 years

Futch was probably pre fishy.

Of course he bloody was!!  Ignore me!

Tough 'un then.  Todd an outstanding player and the catalyst for us staying up that year.  Handyside a class act over several seasons.  If I had to pick just one I would probably go for Todd, Handyside definitely on the subs bench though.,

Handyside.

Todd was excellent but only played a handful of games.

Todd is one of the best players i have seen in a Town shirt, but not our player and wasn't here long enough, so it's Handyside for me too.

Todd was awesome but wasn’t here long. Gotta be Handyside

Interesting that the first 6 on the list are CBs and the last 6 are CMs. Shows that No.4 is now a number for a CM when previously it would be worn by a CB.

Will No.5 and No.6 also be CBs? Could leave our Fishy era team with 5 at the back...

Bennett for me (if only to prevent the team being 9 or 10 from the first Wembley era - the way its going its looking that way)

Handyside

Wasn't Groves a number 4 toward the end?

Because Rob has cruelly omitted Gary Harkins, I suppose I'll have to go for Andy Todd.

Because he was 'our player', Handyside(s), without a doubt. Never saw Andy Todd staggering around outside of JD's on a Thursday night, so his heart obviously wasn't in it in the same way.

Probably for the best, can you imagine how he would have reacted to someone 'approaching' him?

Oh god, Hudson or Church...both fantastic players who will go down as GTFC legends.

Said nobody in the history of the world ever. Got to be Handyside for me too. Although shout out to Ryan Bennett who was a diamond in a steaming pile of shite. Doing it by squad numbers is a weird way of doing it, is that so that the likes of Zhang Enhua can be shoehorned in at number 30? Good thread idea though.

Todd was the best player by a stretch but Handyside should really get the slot as he was our player and played far more games than Todd.

All summed up on here previously. Todd was a class act and a beast. Pete H was almost as good and he learnt how to play with Futch so he was less of a tough nut. He gets it based on being our player. Personally rated him more than Bennett too although the latter has had a very decent career.

Since I only ever saw Handyside once and that was in a Sjoke shirt my vote has to go to Ryan Bennett

Difficult one, I really like Handyside, but Andy Todd has to be probably the best Player i've seen play for Town, so i'll go for him.

Handyside for me frankly I'm amazed a top flight team never came in for him.

Colin Todd, if not Andy Todd.

Handyside, for the reasons others have said.

And you can't really add the 'Grimsby S' to Todd. Todds just sounds daft.

As previously stated Todd was class but not enough games so Handyside. It was a crime paying £13000 a week to a loan player whilst dropping a player of his calibre .
