So is anyone watching the final of the competition that no one wants to win apart from Lincoln?

Henderson, Toto and Nolan all starting for Shrews with LJL and rodman on the bench!

That lump of lard Matt Reid should have been sent off. The dirty cheating get!!

Looked for Deano and then deliberately elbowed him.

Typical

Rhead  # disgusting  animal should have been sent off . Took out Henderson with elbow and shoulder

If I'd like anyone to win it has to be Shrewsbury

At least there is some loose connection with the ex Town contingent so if they can put one over on the Gimps that'd do me

That 'challenge' by Read was an appalling piece of thuggery. In fact it was an assault! How did he get away with that with just a yellow?

Can they retrospectively ban him because that sort of thing needs to be stamped out and he needs to learn his lesson. Could have caused Henderson some serious damage!

Maybe the referee didn't want to "spoil the game"?  ::)

Yeh which we sort of have to say is fair enough after we got away with a bad disley tackle that time against wrexham in the trophy final

Shrews all the way for me, a good number of ex-Town players/coaches. Notwithstanding the fact that the competition is an abomination.

I hope the extra games Lincoln have played in the competition burns them out and ultimately stops them from getting promoted.

Then we both start level next season because I think we will stay up now........who would have thought it.

Imagine if we'd had this clown of a ref yesterday. He'd be out of his depth in non-league. Anyone checked if he's got a Lincoln shirt on underneath his other one?

Lincoln certainly getting the rub of the green from the officials

Clear penalty ( the ball handled out for a corner )
Green sliding in to Henderson with studs up

Fine margins as the commentators said....

Looks as if the ref has got it in for him as far as I can see, so yeah, wouldn't surprise me if he gets a second yellow

Hollow victory in a phoney trophy for the Gimps

Shrews were really poor though it might have been different if they'd have played only 10 men
( after Rhead should have been sent off ) and had been awarded at least one of the two nailed on penalties they should have had

Just pleased that the referee today wasn't in charge at BP yesterday as his performance in this game just wasn't up to scratch

5 finals as a manager is actually quite a good record, it's just winning the fornicators he has a problem with.

Yup, and because he got booked there will be no further action against the tw@t.  Perhaps the Ref thought sending him off would ruin the occasion. !!!!

Hurst has the ability to get more wins than losses as he has shown at Town and at Shrewsbury. He has trouble though with one off games because he is not very good at tactics. That is his big weakness.  Lincoln were allowed to play the game they wanted which was kick lumps off better players, rough up a young keeper and get the ball forward missing out midfield.

Hurst was caught out by this lower league tactic time after time at BP, lesser teams sat back and bullied Town out of a game while our manager sat motionless on the bench. Shrewsbury have had a few struggles against the bottom clubs in the league as well. He does not seem to be able to get his sides to go out from the off with the Chris Nichols mantra which was you had to earn the right to play.

I didn’t see the game as I was working but I would agree with your views on Hurst.

What I assume didn’t help is Lincoln scoring when they did as when he was at GTFC Hurst’s teams where better at holding leads then chasing them.

So true, he was made to look an amateur today by a rookie manager, I don`t think Lincoln put one footballing move together all game, but showed plenty of endeavour and effort

Both percentage managers, but the Cowleys seem to be a bit better at it. Didn't watch the game but i imagine it wasn't a feast of football.

You’re right Ginny. It wasn’t

It was Lincoln roughing up the Shrews from the off and not allowing them to get in to their stride

A thuggish attack by Rhead on Henderson that should have been a red and minutes later the keeper fumbled for an easy tap in

After that it was over really. Lincoln had a couple of more chances. Their keeper pulled off a smart save. They should have had a couple of penalties awarded against them that might have given Hurst’s men a way back in, but it wasn’t to be

I guess the Gimps’ fans will be overjoyed at their victory but in reality it’s nothing to be proud of

Gimps too just over 26,000 for their first visit which is way less than what we took on our first visit however they took double to what the Scunts took for their first visit.

A Shrewsbury fan's view.

Not a great day with PH being out smarted by the Cowley brothers, Salop out played by Lincoln, Salop fans greatly outnumbered by Lincoln, a p**s poor ref, smug Salop fans saying how great their lunch was and gloating they don’t have to travel home,

Never mind we really showed the EFL what we think of the Chec

Not as bad as that stamp on Macca at Wembley by that fat FGR player.  Not so sure that Rhead set-out to do that. Doesn't look pre-meditated as he was looking the other way and looking to get away from the Shrews defender. Bloody quick thinking if it was deliberate.

Fat cunnt though.

I agree, I thought it was a disgraceful challenge. Should have seen red. What I will say is so would there centre half too (Niasla?), at it all game.

Regardless of what league we are in next year, I doubt Rhead will be here.
Its rumoured we have already spent 600k on two centre forwards who have agreed to join. One is the lad from Wimbledon (Lyle Taylor), not sure who the other is.

Regardless of the rights or wrongs of the checkatrade, it has made us way over a million, which appears to be being put in to the team already.

Good luck against Barnet - They deserve Non - League.

Absolutely spot on. You just have to look at the Shrews goal difference this season compared to those around them...very similar to most of the seasons he had here....low on goals conceded but way down on goals scored....he doesnt want to lose games and sets up accordingly as opposed to going out to win them.
Its a formula for a decent success rate over a league season, which he has consistently showed, but not necessarily for winning knock out competitions, which play offs ultimatley are.

Yeah I saw they were at it with Crewe from a few clips I have seen. I think they have a voucher scheme, so they can bring a friend Saturday or something.
Think we have sold 900 tickets so with 4 days left can see us taking over a 1000. We need a win, as after that we have Wycombe, Accrington and Coventry.

I think Barnet, if they go, will be a long time in Non league before they challenge again.

They were at it here too, before and during the game. Took advantage of us having no police in the ground and leaving a gate open, which they rushed through after we equalised. Held the game up for about 10 mins. Think you will beat them. Hope so anyway.

I saw the clip in the game, Been to Vale before, remember it being quite dire.
Saw us lose in the FA cup there, but also went with a mate who is a Newcastle Fan, and they just took over the place all day long.
Seems pretty nailed on to me that it is Chesterfield and Barnet who are gone. Chesterfield are the worst side I have seen this season, Barnet looked okay against us, but I cant see them winning, a draw would be fine for you I think.
