I know we are not supposed to talk about it and I will wash my mouth out when I have typed this. Apparently The Imps are taking 25000 supporters and Shrewsbury about 9000 to the final. Lincoln set to make over £250000 from the competition. Have they sold their souls? Or have they taken sensible commercial decisions?

Its been suggested that we will make 750k from the Competition.
And yes I believe Freck is on that , Bostwick won't be far off it either.

We've sold 26k now for the final.

So are you saying Pete if we had a team good enough to get to the final you would have been happy for us to be in it.

The clubs collectively decided to enter it. Even the ones who voted against it (possibly Lincoln and Shrews) still have to enter and play games. The managers and players are not going to throw the games, they'll want to win every game because they are competitive and they all want to have a trip to Wembley on their CV.

I think it's a case of had we been good enough to have won some of the chuckaturd games and progressed we would also have been good enough to have won more league games, so our league position would not have been as precarious, might even have been pushing for playoffs, then we would have complained about extra games effecting our promotion push. As for the 26k, well done but it is their first visit, don't forget we took 30k on our first visit but over the years as we visited Wembley more frequently the numbers started to go down.

Lincoln taking almost double to Wembley than the Scunts for their first visit, I think we took 25,000 against MK mongs when we didn't stand a chance of winning it for our 3 or 4th visit, still they are over 5,000 down on what we took for our first visit when this competition was valid. Lincoln express will be full then.

Think it's time to say well done to both teams and get on with avoiding relegation

Well said. Why is it that we always seem to go down the 'we took more fans than you' line?

What is the difference between Grimsby supporters and Lincoln supporters ?

Grimsby supporters have a slight Cockney accent because they’ve been to Wembley so often.

Most of us have probably been to Sincil Bank more times than them as well  ;)

They could potentially repeat our Wembley double 20 years on... :B

We took 35,000 supporters to this final at the old Wembley in 1998, then over 25,000 a few weeks later for the play off final, but to be fair the play off was a Bank Holiday

What a truly remarkable year 1998 was

We was in it,  the fans just did not want to go and watch,

I always want Town to win any game they are playing , don't you ?

Wow 35000 now I seem to remember the official number was 28000 and Bournemouth had 35000, not that it matters.

By 2028 we'll have taken 50000 and tales of it will brighten up away days at Bottesford Town.
