I remember them all apart from the Dime one. Classics. They eventually brought out a 'Fly Fishing by JR Hartley' book.

I love this series of Whitbread ads:

Another advert that sticks in my mind was for a chocolate bar called a Swiskit but no one else seems to remember it, so I'm not  sure if I've imagined it.

It was a skier at the top of a mountain looking down a very dangerous decent and saying "I'll risk it for a Swiskit" before setting off down the slope.

Anyone else remember this ad, can't even find it on Youtube.

Does anyone know why some YouTube clips are visible and some aren’t ?

I remember, I'll risk it for a Swisskit.

But then I might be a figment of your imagination.  ;)

I genuinely haven't seen that! Laughed out at that.

I'm sure we've had refs worse than that in the Conference. That illegitimate at Wembley in 2015 for one.

You need to embed them using the You Tube icon above when you are posting. This makes them visible. If you just copy and paste the link then you have to click on the link to see it.

For that Nimble advert the url is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NopAq6tUHVk which you have to click on, whereas if you just copy and paste the end part after the = sign between like this it is visible.

All I can see using the YouTube app Les is the option to share and the copy link tab, I can’t see the URL when using the app, it just copies the URL to the thread, it never used to do this, it’s only the last week or so it’s been doing this, maybe Rob has changed something?

I looked for this monstrosity hoping to find the current England gaffer. This'll have to do instead:

There's an old ad song that gets stuck in my mind sometimes.... old habits die hard!  ;)

Got it all a-going,
Got my savings growing

Ring any bells with anyone ( I know who the ad was for, just seeing if anyone else picks up on it)

When adverts first started on our tv in the 50's they were interesting and a novelty ,

Now they are annoying and too many in number,

You watch an hour long programme and you get 3  or 4 breaks for adverts,

And ITV are shite at timing the breaks. I'm sure they used to time them appropriately for whatever film was showing. Now they virtually cut over to ads mid-sentence.

I often watch TV a day behind. I record programmes I want to watch and then watch them the following day when I just fast forward past all the adverts.

We do that a lot Les.

It's worse if you watch stuff on demand on All4. They lever in loads of short adverts in the breaks which you don't have the option to skip.
