Any updates?

Shame BBC Humbs didn't grasp the opportunity to do a live commentary from NE Lincs for the first time in ages.

How on earth did we manage to get Mark Clattenburg as the referee- I see Slades sent Wilko down here to see if he can sign anybody on the cheap.

Time was called early due to poor light...0-1 loss for the Mariners....approx 100 there i would say at the peak.
Donny side had some useful players, although they shaded it on the bigger size wise too,  overall they were probably the better of the teams. Visiting keeper had little to do of note with our keeper making a couple of smart saves and crossbar coming to the rescue as well.

Played in a decent spirit but with light fading one or two "tackles" started to be mistimed with the ref enforcing subs rather than reaching for the book.

Well done all.

Had the game been staged at one of the three initial venues before they all got cold feet I reckon it would've attracted more fans.

My thoughts too, shame for the Donny lads travelling that they were treated  to a poor Sunday League facility, shame the other venues couldnt have honoured their initial agreements.

I remember us winning a penalty shoot-out against Donny in this very competition, one very windy night when they were holders and had more fans there than we did. I can remember Paul Bolland missing his penalty but the ref ordering a retake which he scored.

We won one against Sheffield United on 11 September 2001 although that wasn't the main news that night.

The sheffield united game was a town game! Drew 3-3 and went on to get Liverpool in the next round the rest is history.

Hope you can play one game for us at some point this season Luke! I'm trying to get a game at Yeovil in the first week of Jan.

Saw Town win a penalty shoot out at Preston, one evening.

Remember us winning one at Barnsley too, League Cup around 92? (We lost to QPR the next round, also on pens).

And the round before that windy Donny game (which featured an amazing og) Les mentioned, we won at Rotherham on pens.

One of the longest shoot outs in history..mainly because both sides kept missing.

Unless last nights 'fans' match ended in penalties, may I suggest folk are posting on the wrong thread !!

That's what I was hinting at civvy..

If you have a game at Yeovil I am there man! I've retired from all football but will come out of retirement to play for IMFC anytime!
