Big comedy town fan Lloyd Griffith has just been announced as the new co host of Soccer AM. Grimsby will no doubt get a lot of mentions from him.

If you haven't seen his work then you need to YouTube him.. done some great stuff with Messi and co for Fifa and also BBC giving players lifts to training.

Really great achievement !

Went to see him twice at the Edinburgh fringe, first time we went his show was spot on and came for a drink with us after. Second time not so good.

Well done Lloyd  :)

I wouldn't watch it if it was presented by Norris the Rubberman drinking Hewitts Mild,  wearing a sou'wester and overalls with 'Grimsby is flipping ace' printed on it. Sky innit.

Well done to him - hopefully he can bring some fresh ideas to the show. Last time I saw it it resembled a 78 year old racehorse (insert Helen Chamberlain joke here).

Brad Bobley bits were good last season.

Pleased that he's managed to get such a big gig, seems a nice bloke and a proper fan. Hopefully he can revive the dead horse Soccer AM have been flogging for the best part of 10 years.

Ugh, Bullard is going to be terrible. Only several decent segments last year, I end up skipping through most of it.

Pleased for Lloyd though.

Is it just me who doesn't find him funny or original ?  Will fit in on soccer am though

Saw him as warm up act earlier this year for jack Whitehall. He only did 10 minutes but was much funnier than the main event. Also happy to take a photo and have a chat after Notts county away last season.

Seems like a good bloke, good luck to him and any good exposure for town is never a bad thing.

Is he taking the place of that woman with the big plastic lips?

Lovejoy left years ago.

It's fair to say that the news hasn't been as almost unanimously popular on Twitter as it has been on here. The feminists are out...

Is Helen still on? The show was majorly bad last season.

Spoke to Fenners tonight (sorry for name drop) and he seems pretty upbeat about it. Could be good exposure for us  :)

well he has been carving a niche career in the comedy football feature world so fair play to him, not a fan personally but hey good luck to him, hell of a task turning that show around though.

Great to see someone from the town doing well. Like the programme or not, it's not a bad gig to have.
Good luck Lloyd.

Gives the lad great exposure to move his career on , have to say his comedy isn't my cup of tea but pleased for him anyway

Good luck - find him a mixed bag personally.. Some stuff from him is brilliant but some not so. Good opportunity for him and always good to see a local lad do well!

Why? what happened to your Gran's tand?

He won't be the first fat dancer to make it big.

I'm sorry Lloyd, to put that in black and white for you.  :)

Good luck mate, I'm sure you will be good for Grimsby on there.

As Dad Jokes go that's even worse than mine.

I'd have gone for the 'Gran's tanned?! She should have put more sunblock on' angle.
