Does anyone else find the words on the OS and Telegraph cringe worthy given the fact its only 450 ST's sold? I am envious the fact that LFC have sold 5k, 10 times more than us.

Everything about this club is a joke, there is no question I will not renew my season ticket, but I do it without any enthusiasm and will renew it as late as possible.

Can we stop going on about F**king Lincoln none of us care let them sell 5,000 season tickets doesn't mean nothing, thought we was all town aren't we ?

It would help with season ticket sales if we made a decent signing now and then. The signings so far do nothing to light a spark as far as I am co ncerned considering 2 of our best players have departed. It's all right saying the new season is a long way off but all players are getting snapped up by our opponents ' Last year we left it too late for various reasons so all that was left was at the bottom of the barrel . Why can't GTFC do something right for once and start pulling their finger out. Are there hidden reasons for all these things that are never done right

Do you think the club avoid making decent signings to deliberately sabotage the season ticket sales? Of course the club want to sign the best players they can, so using the 'decent signing phrase to take a jab at the club over season ticket sales is ridiculous.

Who are the "decent" players that Lincoln have signed to boost their season ticket sales? ;)

This is all a load of cobblers anyway. It's only 13th June. Who needs a season ticket today? Who needs a new signing today? Just because the last manager seemed to sign on players for fun it seems some folks think that is the norm. It isn't - this is the norm. A few at a time. Chill out, enjoy the close season, watch the cricket. Tickets and signings will happen, all in good time.

Why blame the club? The club doesn't sign players , the manager does. It's almost as if you are saying that the Board tell the manager not to sign any players until they think it's the right time to do so. I don't think there is any evidence that JF or the board have actually prevented the manager from signing a player in this pre-season. It's up to RS to identify and then sign players ( obviously within the restraints of his budget ) . In this instance the buck stops at RS!

We should've had the new kits and season tickets on sale the day the season finished.

They should also run more promote the club more and market tickets better. I've said somewhere else that when there was loads of publicity around the club eg the battle bus, telegraph vouchers we were getting over 7000 towards the end of our relegation season with a very poor team so we could easily beat that if the club advertised itself properly.

Should run more offers aswell like 'collect 20 vouchers from home programmes over the course if the season and get an extra 20% off your season ticket and kids for a quid things that they used to give out when I was at school.

GTFC-85 is clearly a Lincoln WUM.
Our season tickets have just gone on sale , yes we will not sell as many but they are on the crest of a wave . Remember when we were both doing shite only one of us still got the crowds and sold out the away end time after time. Normal service will shortly be resumed.

To be honest I just don't get why the club have made a big song and dance about smashing through a £100k barrier selling a paltry 450 season tickets. I question their judgement on why they did it. My first impression was.. that's a bit tinpot.  My opinion hasn't changed after a few days. Were they hoping throwing a figure round like £100k was going to impress us? The message was smashing through £30k on the first day of sales too. What's going on in their heads? These are not impressive figures to make a song and dance about. If I were them I'd start coming up with better than just a ridiculously poor pinned tweet of an oversized image of RS looking like Big Al from Stella.

We may not be the richest club in the world, but effort and inventiveness costs nothing. On the odd occasion the club have come up with surprisingly good pieces of PR. They can do it. After over 100 years in existence, the promotion of season ticket sales should not be an issue and definitely not a thread on this forum. The same people have been at the helm of this football club for a good while so the marketing of season ticket sales should be a well-oiled machine by now, not a point of discussion or ridicule..

I agree that it could be Slades fault { I am not a big fan of his anyway]He is part of the management now and if the limits he has been set are not enough he should be on JF's back for more. If GTFC are to progress they have to sign decent players, even if it means spending some of the Bogle money-surely there is some left   When I say GTFC I mean from the owner down including R.S.  There is something wrong somewhere

Peterboro chairmans views and probably why we and most other teams haven't signed loads of players so far. Mansfield must be paying crazy wages.

"A little perspective from me on the 'market' at moment re footballers. Its been a fascinating May so far talking to the many free transfers, many Transfer targets that would need fee paid for them, many agents of players from below and above possibly available.. And ones thing thats for sure is the sudden shift in L1 wage expectations. Some Players from Non League now turning their nose up whereby not so long ago they would walk on hot coals to sign & be sensible about terms built with incentives & improved Basic wage for the step up.. Now some dont even return calls or agents think they can go higher... and their demands way above even the average L1 basic wage for lads who've never played in the Football League. Many are on less then 1k per week and the opening gambit now from agents is contracts worth 3 times this lol..
Re league players who have are out of contract/released its even worse with now wage demands getting out of hand/control for players who have not done anything yet in game/would be deemed as a Punt, many under age of 24 (so plenty time to make their fortunes).
Prem Youngsters released/not wanted by prem clubs where they are on 600 or 700 quid per week now instantly expecting/demanding 2.5k per week deals and more having yet played 50 games of mens football.. But then again this is May with hundreds of footballers about to be released, June onwards should/will see some common sense/reality set in for lots of them and their demands. Right now its fun and games and many funny conversations with agents... the tide soon turns... has to turn or our game at our level will see many casualties going forward if some clubs keep falling for these ridiculous demands. A good football club with good recruitment plan is based on signing the right characters who want success/growth/improvement & understand that the big money comes after and not before... 'Ambition over Greed' is our mantra & something we went away from last year but something we will stand firm on this year with our young and hungry policy. We have plenty experienced players but lot of talented young players including ones we will recruit this summer and with this our one and only aim is to grow into winners on and off the field.

The Boyds, McLeans, CMS'S, Tomlins, Taylors, Bennetts, Gayles, Britts & Washingtons epitomized our mantra & didn't worry about over top contracts until they had brought success to our club and themselves.. and regardless of current climate, trust me when I say, there are plenty more of the above characters out there.. and its our Job to find them/sign them/improve them.

Just me perspective

Thanks
Darragh"

Sorry but the marketing is and always has been dogsh1t and without a shadow of a doubt GTFC take the support for granted. A ground with a home capacity so small could easily have been sold out every game last season but from the minute the final whistle went and we had gained Promotion NOTHING.

I don't usually comment or comment plain but every close season I frantically go on the OS to find anything juice and 99 times out of 100 I find nothing  ;D  don't want to sound like I'm complaining but we should be doing something to keep fans like myself engaged. It's nice to have the weekly update from Russ but we need more, just small things would be a start. I'm not expecting signings every day

Have to disagree....this season for instance....the club has marketed the S.T by proudly announcing as one reason to have one is:

that by buying a season ticket you are guaranteed your seat for every league home game of the season....

i had never realised that before in the 40 odd years of going to B.P....that pretty much is a deal clincher for me and so happy that the club are now including this as part of the marketing... :-/

Lots of commercial strategy and marketing experts on here all of a sudden, the sooner we start signing players and kicking balls the better, once the FL contracts have run out on the 30th we should see some activity

Many moaning will still buy a season ticket as they'll want a chance of a Lincoln/Mansfield/Chesterfield away tickets etc.. etc. or indeed a home cup ticket if we get a good draw or by some miracle put a run together.

In the eyes of some whatever the club does is wrong and everything Lincoln does is right which will only truly be proved when the season starts.

I  sure people at GTFC care and are working hard for the betterment of the team so for a while at least can we cut them some slack and allow them to get on with it I wonder?

Quite. I really don't see any relevance as to what the Gimps are doing and why some are so obsessed with them. When we've got 6 points off them, perhaps it'll stop.

I'm as unimpressed by certain aspects of the club as you are but I happen to have far more faith in a manager who is far more time-served in the Football League than the one who left. Let's face it, matters off the pitch will remain in Mr Fenty's control, so we can do buggerall about it other than enjoy the ride.

Agree with what The Old Codger says....

My optimism is based upon "let's see where we start and end the football season" the football bit is quite important isn't it?

Let the admin staff get on with the admin and get behind Russ and whatever squad he assembles, that's what supporters do.

We are not Blackpool, Orient, Charlton etc.. we have a board that allthough may not be the wealthiest and make many a PR gaff actually care about the club.
