I don't buy into all of this player contract and player revolt theory. You only have to look at the players involved and their situations.

Danny Collins, reaching the end of his playing career anyway but would get offers for another year at our level, so why rush to sign? Especially considering he is also on the coaching qualification pathway and his next job might easily be in a coaching capacity somewhere.

Then you look at the others. Just a few games left and keeping their options open in the knowledge that Grimsby will give them a contract anyway if nothing better comes along.

Then you have to factor in the Paul Hurst scenario. There are players out of contract this summer who are Paul Hurst men. I would be very surprised if Paul Hurst doesn't come in for some of these players in the summer and who can blame them for waiting to see. Some of them might already have a heads up on this and there is a chance that if Hurst keeps the Shrews in League 1 that they could be playing at the next level up.

2+2 doesn't always = 4. Often speculation is 2+2=5.

I feel sorry for the players that are out of contract as they have 5 games to gain a contract.

Is Vose a Slade type player though, I can't remember his first stint very well, I was only about 5 or 6, but my dad tells me he loved a long ball and I can't see Vose fitting that particular mould.
