Mid-table pushing for top 10 is what I'd class as a successful season, something to build upon

win more than we lose should be our goal (which usually ends up mid table) but aim for the play offs.

Finish above smug Cheltenham will do for starters

I'd be happy with mid table, one of them playoff spots would be amazing though!

I'd be more than happy with mid table but i voted for top 7 after seeing the retained list. I think Hurst and the board have ambition to keep going upwards.

Agree with this. We should be aiming for that 7th spot but if there's no shame if we fall short.

I think it could be more about an overall sense of how we adapt & cope with League 2. For example, we may get off to a slow start but if we improve, start getting to grips with it and push up towards mid-table by the end, then that would be a positive transitional season.

I'd be pretty thrilled with mid table, but honestly we've been out of the league so long I'd be quite happy to see us just not get relegated.

Yeah, steady start to find our feet, off the radar and slowly build, with a late run into the play offs un-noticed. That would be ace.

Our budget based upon income from home attendances points to 8-10th in the table. So will be pleased with being around the play-offs as it would suggest a slight over-achievement.

The events of yesterday have been a clear signal of intent for me. Paul Hurst has recognised that his squad will have to have more quality than what was needed to get out of the National League.

I will be happy to see us make the play offs.

Happy with mid table - wait and see who we get in before we can really guess where we might be.

Some fans will never be happy  ;)

I think next season Paul Hurst's expectations will probably exceed that of the fans. I would expect the manager to be targeting a top 7 finish whereas most fans will be happy with anything from mid table to top half. Quite refreshing after the last few seasons.

League 2 Champions, League Cup and Trophy winners, FA Cup winners and to play in the FA Trophy just for a laugh and win that too. Otherwise on yer bike Hursts.

We go up, Scunts come down - we then cherry pick a couple of their players just for the hell of it.

50 points, can barely remember a football league season when it wasn't the target  :)

Got to give Hurst credit for taking a gamble on the retain list...he's knows he'll need to bring in about a dozen new players, so before yesterday i thought last seasons squad would have been good enough to achieve mid-table...but Hursty is obviously looking for quality, so i'll up my expectations to top 7.

I will be happy to just secure our place in the league and start to build a competitive side, anything mid table or above would be a success

Mid table with a good core squad of players to push for top four the season after

Love to know what type of target that Fenty and the other directors have given Paul Hurst for this new season.

Challenging up at the top half would be excellent, as would staying well above any relegation battle.

5,000 crowds would be Fenty's ambition at least so to achieve that, the new squad needs to excite the fans back in greater numbers.

A mix of League quality, combined with ambitious young talent, would be a revelation to see, so Hurst will have his hands full to come up with the goods ready for pre season and the league kick off date.

After the last few seasons I would be happy with mid table TBH.

I agree with people saying Hurst has been brave with the retained list but I just hope it doesn't backfire. If you look at the teams that have been successful after portion to league 2 they have kept the majority of their squad together and made subtle, quality additions, Bristol Rovers being a good example. A huge squad overhaul worries me slightly as we had such a close knit team with fantastic spirit and that gets you a long way IMO. I just hope he gets it right and doesn't splurge on journeyman just because they have 'league experience'. As tough as getting out the National league was, this summer is his biggest test to date IMO!

Gonna be odd, over the last few years we've been used to winning, we'll certainly lose more this coming year, be delighted with mid table with chance of PO's

Be content with mid-table but wouldn't be surprised by anything from 20th to 5th.

We need to aim for top half and then getting into the play offs is a bonus.
