I've been to a match there, not sure how it would cope if Town played there. PH was one of the managers that day.

Just the 1st round regionalised. It's national from the 2nd round.

Why don't they.
1. Regionalise it into 4 areas, north east, north west, south west, south east.
2. Play the games on Tuesday nights.
3. Go straight to ET and penalties on the night.
4. Start it in August and play most of the games before Christmas.

A little as my best friend is a big fan of them, so if I can't make a Town game I go to some Boston games with him.

Probably because it's been around longer than the National League (or it's original name of Alliance Premier League) and arguably it's the more senior competition and takes precedence.

Probably because apart from a few clubs like us at the top end of the National League it is a big deal. Playing games on a Tuesday would hit these clubs financially. Personally speaking I don't think any club should be bigger than a national competition.

We're probably going to get a team from our own division unless it's seeded , certainly no mouth watering ties . Danger of silly injuries replays bookings or postponements does take the shine off competition . Nice for smaller clubs to see a ' Name ' team as Coalville did the other season , beer tent , burger van etc , was like a village fare .
When is the draw ?

Because someone would think that they had some modicum of sensibility and feeling for the teams they control - and we all know that's a joke !!

It's the
F.A. Trophy. "They" have a modicum of sensibility and feeling for
all the teams they control-not just a few at the top of the National League.
As I've said before the money Chasetown made from the Trophy run where they beat us enabled them to put in seated accommodation so improving the lot of their fans for a long time after they were eventually knocked out.

I am off to do a full draw myself using scrunched up up post it notes instead of balls. Home teams will be drawn by myself and away teams will be drawn by the guy on the security desk. Will let you know how we get on.

All depends on the FA cup how we treat this one, looking at the profit from last seasons Wembley appearance i cant see the trophy being a massive enough money spinner to warrant jeapordising the promotion push, if we go out of the FA cup this round then the trophy and the league should remain feasible targets with the current numbers on board.....stay in the cup this weekend then the FA trophy the week after becomes very much a b fixture for me.

Not based on recent appearances, but that squad should keep the wolves away from the door who plead that we would be sending out a weakened side?
Certainly game time for the two loanies to perhaps bring in a few supporters to assess them / slag them as is their want !
Surely Diz can't keep going ALL season, so Henderson needs to be ready if Brown is now more of a fringe player ??
Venney and Clifton now further down the pecking order, and in need of loan time to get games under their belts??

The trouble is with wholesale changes it would mean a lot of the first team squad not playing for the best part of a fortnight before we resume league action later on in December when Dover visit
As much as I'd welcome a few changes, you can argue it would be best to keep a regular league nucleus in the side to face Solihull, if just to keep them ticking over, rather than them having a longish lay off from the team

Me too. I usually go in Spayne Road terrace. I just realised this weekend that I have a Boston programme from 2009 when they played Stocksbridge Park Steels (it was a cracker actually) and Jamie Vardy played. Could only managed an attempt cleared off the line though.

Thread of the week!
Didn't realise the Casuals were still in it. They only need to win the replay away at Grays and beat Hungerford at home for me to stand an outside chance of getting to a localish game (Hampton and Kingstonian both being beaten on Saturday) in the next but one round. Assuming we beat Solihull. And we draw the Casuals away. ;)

Hurst dropped a hint today that he might be mixing things up for the Trophy saying that with it coming up and a couple of reserve games Scott Brown would get some chance of game time.
If Hursty could utilise his full squad and not flog certain players to death then perhaps progress in the Trophy could be of benefit. To be able to give fringe players competetive game time to help keep up their match fitness so raring to go if needed in league and keeping them content too could aid League campaign.
The League cannot be negatively affected by this competition though under any circumstances. And it's not a case of us thinking we are bigger than the competition it's a case of looking at what will make our long term future more secure. -Get stuck down here in the Conference and things will get harder and harder as our resources are stretched and parachute payments from those dropping down increase.
We can't last forever down here and this Season is still the greatest chance we've ever had to get out. One million pounds is it for League Two clubs next year, to win the Trophy? Peanuts in comparison.
It's a sad fact of life/football these days that money rules. Sadly maybe we must secure our future over a bit of silverware that will barely be remembered and certainly nothing that will stand atop our proud record of achievements.

.
Agree with a lot of that.Personally would be happy if he rested all the first teamers for the trophy games and played the youths and those coming back from injury or needing game time.
