Crazy overkill yet again.

I do not want to be 'escorted' on my way to a 5th tier football match!!! I am perfectly capable of finding the ground on my own!!!

The last time I went by car we managed to get parked down one of the side streets right near to the ground. Hopefully we can find a similar space tomorrow.

All of them!!
But either Wetherspoons on Lord Street would be a good bet. Willow Grove near the station or Henry Seagrave further along Lord St.

Slight overkill ??) you would think it was Leeds or someone turning up in the 80s

How lovely! "Merseyside Police will have police officers 'meet and greet' Town supporters".

"Hello, my name is Sergeant Ray Cist and this is WPC Sue Spected-Lesbian. We'll be treating you like sheep and the scum of the Earth today. I do hope you enjoy your visit to Merseyside today."

I'm an adult that works with some very high risk people on a daily basis. I've managed to take myself to nearly every away game this year without the aid of some state paid bully.

I think I'll pass and make my own way to the ground...

Whilst I agree some see it as an overreaction on behalf of southport police, from their point of view this will be probably their second largest away following this season and are not used to handling such numbers. Also the Sheffield incident ( which having seen the video clip I think was blown out of all proportion) didn't help town fans in any way. I cannot blame them for wanting to keep the town fans clustered together. Anyway most of the town support travelling independently may welcome a free car park and local knowledge passed on of good pubs to visit from the old bill. After all they are only offering an option, take it or leave it I think many town fans are over reacting to this, I'd have no issue with itat all and some are prejudging a non event really. To all travelling enjoy the day. UTM

I think if you park there, there will be no going in the pub. Straight to the ground I think
