Team:
McKeown
Hatton
Miller
Pearson
Thomas
Marshall
Artus
Naylor
Devitt
Cook
Brodie

Subs:
John-Lewis
Colbeck
Wilson
Wood
Hearn (!!)

A vital three points today could see the Mariners' play-off spot look very secure, and maybe rejuvenate title hopes if others drop points.

Maybe just included to provide a morale boost to squad?

Wel if someone had told me a fortnight ago that Niven, Disley and Thanoj would be missing you wouldn't give much for our chances. Still great chance for Artus to stake his claim.
No hannah either?

for me brodie is a trier, and at least he has shown he gives a toss.    ok so he hasnt had a great game, but who has?   cooke has done nothing either so brodie mught me entitled to be a bit disgruntled at always being the one to be subbed, i mean when was the guy able to play a full 90 mins?

dont blame him for our innadequacies at present, its a team game remember.

Colbeck sounds like a flipping embarrassment. All he's done since he came on is pass every cross to the keeper and give the ball away.

I suppose people can blame injuries for breaking the rhythm of the squad, but last week we had a great chance to beat one of our title rivals and we messed up big time, in mid week despite not playing badly we got beat by another rival and now this. Niven and Disley are two of the biggest cogs in the engine, you take them away and the team dosen't run properly, its a sad state of affairs that we have wimpered to this defeat today.
Posted by: TWAreaTownSupporter, March 16, 2013, 4:47pm; Reply: 63
Cant see where goals are coming from now. Wheels well and truly fallen off the wagon.

Clearly not enough quality in the squad to cope with the bad look of the injuries to the spine of the team.

Rotation of strikers looking more and more like a big mistake.
Posted by: springstomind, March 16, 2013, 4:48pm; Reply: 64
Cant cross the ball, cant hit the target, Disley, Hannah, Pearson, Niven all injured... Wingers not in the game, no service. Artus only player thats performed very well today.
Posted by: northbankmariner, March 16, 2013, 4:50pm; Reply: 65
trying to find a positive today, cant think of one except welcome back liam, glass which was previously half full, now suddenly appears half empty,    form needts to recover as we still need a few more wins to be certain of the playoffs which alas is all we can hope for now, but despite our obvious dissapointment, the playoffs are still a great chance of getting promoted, its a 1in 4 chance after all, and york did it last year after finishing 15 points off the pace last year.  its easy for us to knock the team right now, but they will be desperately unhappy themselves lets not forget and they dont need neagativity and criticism.

players need to come back from injury soon as midfield is where games are won and lost at this level.

I'm disgusted at this result, a massive game and yet again there we put in a performance totally devoid of any effort or quality. Not once have we really gone gung ho at them today to get that title challenge by the scruff of the neck. Absolutely embarrassing.

Id still say the play offs are a cert given Fororest Green losing last night, but that auto spot has gone now without a doubt. I felt saying it was gone after kiddy was a bit premature but 4 defeats in 6 is the same form Hyde are currently on, so lets get back on track on tuesday and grab that play off spot.
Posted by: mariner91, March 16, 2013, 5:17pm; Reply: 73
The forward players don't look interested, very little movement or runs from any of the wingers and the forwards were dire. Somebody said that Brodie throwing a strop was a good sign but if he saved some of his moaning/stropping energy for his game play then he might be more effective. Not that Cook had a good game either, don't know where the goals will come from. Need to find some soon or we won't even make the play offs.

My worry is the managers are starting to panic,

Bringing Hearn on for 25 mins without any match time at all,

Smells of desperation to me,

It could have back fired and Hearn could have got injured again,

Only the other day Scott was saying , " we can not rush him, would it be fair to put Hearn on the bench at Wembley and leave one of the other strikers off it " ?

Well I would not be surprised if Hearn starts at Wembley now,

I would not be surprised either if Hearn limps off injured,

DON'T   DO    IT    S + H .

I was ( as I have been last 3 on my leave ) and first half thought he worked his socks off, won lots of tackles and loose balls and stood out for me in a team that looked completely off the pace. Don't get me wrong I'd of preferred Disley, Niven or Thanoj but they weren't an option today and when called upon after a long break Artus did well. I think "Absolute junk" is more applicable to our crossing today but not to Artus. But I'm sure you'd make a cracking manager and breed confidence with that analysis lols.

Agree mate well said. Calling him absolute junk is just a useless and pointless comment. Earlier in the season Mansfield, Hereford, Forrest green wins we went on a good run with him in the side and he's an experienced player that I agree is not as good as others but did his job today. We didn't get the result due to a mix if tired players, bad crossing, a few bad decisions, bad finishing, no need or want or desire for the ball from some players, the wingers not getting in the game enough and when they did wasting it and playing catching practise with their keeper pope. But hey at least Forrest Green lost last night and we can concentrate on getting a fully fit team and rebuilding some momentum and confidence ahead of the play offs.

Some people like to pick on a particular player. The shop did not play today so someone else has to be to whipping boy. It is a disappointing feature of some fans as is the overuse of the word excrement. But eh ho everyone is entitled to an opinion.

To be fair I actually disagree with my original post.

Looking to lash out at 'somebody' re our recent 'form'.

Our delivery from the wide areas and from corners/free kicks can be described as absolute junk though.

He played ok, certainly better than Marshall today.

Although I will stand by my opinion that he isn't good enough for a side trying to get promotion out of this division.
