Dear Players of Grimsby Town FC
I am writing with regard to my absolute astonishment and disbelief as to the sheer magnitude of your complete lack of talent and failure to carry out the job for which you are paid to do. I am not aware of any swear word or other derogatory phrase in my current vocabulary which comes close to a description of your ‘performance’ (and I use that term loosely) this afternoon, but let me just say that you have collectively reached a level of inadequacy and ineptitude that neither I nor modern science had previously considered possible.
In fact I recall a time, in my youth, when I decided to call in sick at work and instead spent the entire day in my one bedroom flat wearing nothing but my underpants, eating toast and wánking furiously over second-rate Scandinavian porn. Yet somehow, I still managed to contribute more to my employer in that one Andrex-filled day than you complete bunch of toss-baskets have contributed to this club in your entire time here.
I would genuinely like to know how you pathetic little píssflaps sleep at night, knowing full well that you have taken my money and that of several thousand others and delivered precisely fúck all in return. I run a business myself, and I believe I could take any 4,000 of my customers at random; burn down their houses, impregnate their wives and then dismember their children before systematically sending them back in the post, limb-by-limb, and still ensure a level of customer satisfaction which exceeds that which I have experienced at Blundell Park at any time so far this season.
You are a total disgrace, not only to your profession, not only to the human race, but to nature itself. This may sound like an exaggeration, but believe me when I say that I have passed kidney stones which have brought me a greater level of pleasure and entertainment than watching each of you worthless excuses for professional footballers attempt to play a game you are clearly incapable of playing, week-in, week-out.
I considered, for a second, that I was perhaps being a little too harsh. But then I recalled that I have blindly given you all the benefit of the doubt for too long now. Yes, for too long you have failed to earn the air you’ve been breathing by offering any kind of tangible quality either as footballers or as people in general. As such, I feel it’s only fair that your supply runs out forthwith.
I trust, at this precise moment in time, that Mr Fenty is in his office tapping away on the Easyjet web site booking you all one-way flights to Zurich, complete with an overnight stay with our cheese eating friends at Dignitas. Don’t bother packing your toothbrush – you won’t need it.
In the event that our beloved chairman can’t afford the expense (understandable given that he’s soon going to have to assemble a new squad from scratch), then I am prepared to sell my family (including my unborn child) to a dubious consortium of Middle Eastern businessmen in order to pay for the flights. Christ, I’ll drive you there myself, one-by one, without sleep, if I have to.
Failing that, understanding that most dubious Middle Eastern businessmen are tied-up purchasing Premier League football clubs, I ask you to please take matters into your hands. Use your imagination, guys – strangle yourselves or cover yourself in tinfoil and take a fork to a nearby plug socket, or something. Just put yourselves and us fans out of our collective misery.
So, in summary, you pack of repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards; leave this club now and don’t you fúcking dare look back. You’ve consistently demonstrated less passion and desire than can commonly be found within the contents of a sloth’s scrótum, so frankly you can just all fúck off – don’t pass go, don’t collect your wages, don’t ever come back to this town again.
I look forward to you serving me at my local McDonald’s drive-thru in the near future.
Yours sincerely

Spot on matey , lets hope they read it. As someone has posted earlier, let the young lads play at Leeds, we are going to get tubbed anyway, at least it will get them prepared for the conference early !

Fúck it - it's gone in the post. Taking into account the current state of the postal service the club should receive it shortly before we reach the Unibond Premier.

Yep agree let the young lads have their moment of fame of being on TV and playing at Elland Road, rather pay to see that than go see the excrement that the first team have to offer!

That is totally and utterly BRILLIANT and has cheered my thoroughly miserable night! THANK YOU!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
PLEASE, somebody in the halls of GTFC print this off and post it everywhere inside the club. Let's show these pathetic excuses for footballers what we really think of them.

flipping class post, cheered me up to be honest, thought I was the only one who felt like that.
Today was all about professionallism, doing the right things, turn up with the right attitude, play with a good tempo, put in the effort and workrate, do your job and go into the next round. The f**king w@nkers couldn't even manage that, I don't think Bath even had to play that well to beat us.
It just showed what a complete and utter bunch of t*ssers we have as players, they don't want to play for us, they don't want to play for the shirt, they don't want to play for the manager and they don't want to play for themselves. Absolute spineless barstewards, if they had anything about themselves they would donate their match fee to people who deserve it, like 'Help for Heros'.

I think you're being incredibly harsh. I thought we played excellently, we were just unlucky. The players gave their all, definitely - the motivation and determination was there.

If what you're saying is true then don't you think we have an even bigger problem? We gave our all, were motivated and determined yet somehow still got played off the park by a semi-professional side two divisions below us. And let's be honest, Bath aren't a non-league side brimming with confidence either - they're in the bottom half of their respective division!
I've said it before but it's clear to me that our players are losers in their own mind. They need to go, the lot of them, for us to make a fresh start - the thing is, that can't happen until May at the earliest, and I fear that may be too late.

Anyway, the other Salopian poster said about Poojahs thread on here and have to say that that really does have to be nominated for the rivals board post of the century..

As you may have guessed by my moniker your rant has now spread well beyond the realms of Grimsby Town supporters. Your message to your players will I feel sure strike a chord with all of us who've been there at some point, got depressed and yet still wear the t-shirt. As for myself I regard your slight annoyance with your players as a classic piece of fan invective. Fabulous stuff mate and quite possibly football rant of the year.
Gooner 48 - One life, one game, one team, three doubles and an unbeaten season....although maybe I shouldn't be mentioning such things to Grimsby fans right now :)

Wow. Genuniely taken aback by how far this seems to have spread. Was just trying to bring a bit of lighthearted humour to a day on which the club seemed to have slumped to a new, new low. Thanks for all of the kind words - glad people found it amusing. :)

The word continues to spread on this as it's now gone global. I got it via a Southend United forum and then posted it onto a forum for Australian A-League team Brisbane Roar (I'm a Shrimper living out here in Brisbane now).
These feelings are universal for all but the fans of a very few clubs around the world at some time or another. Absolutely brilliant!

So far its on forums of Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Hereford, Rochdale, Darlington, Bath City, Lincoln, Shrewsbury, Notts County, Macclesfield, Hartlepool, Cheltenham and a good few general football forums. (I googled the link and "repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards")
Poojah, aka angry Grimsby fan on many forums, has created a viral PR campaign for the fans of Grimsby Town. ;D excellent.

ive noticed the german keeper robert enke managed to jump in front of a train and he wasnt nearly as bad as any our lot.come on grimsby players do it ,suck on a hose connected to your exhaust, jump in the bath with the toaster, jump off freemo flats ,walk out into the sea ,id even be happy to pay for a one way ticket to switzerland to that dignitas clinic, do it, do it ,do it.lets face it lads playing for badly for a team that is now[because of you lot] on its way out of the league is likely to be the pinnicle of your careers.your likely to be on the scrapheap as soon as we manage to get rid of you all and being thick daft footballers[maybe footballers wasnt the best way to describe you lot] id be suprised if any of you found the cure for cancer .so go on kill yourselves
very stupid post there Grimps, why mention terrible news like the Enke suicide, i think you may have just killed this post, with your immature, tryin to be funny post.

I've just had the link to Poojah's posting e-mailed to me by a mate near Aberdeen.
Being a Chelsea fan from down south I am unfortunately unable to comment about the highs and lows of Grimsby Town FC. However, I thought it right to post on here and say as a fellow football fan, Poojah.....top draw posting, you are a legend mate and if you ever find yourself at the Bridge then the beers are on us.
I will from time to time go on line and search for the local Grimsby news, as i'm sure in the near future we will hear reports of someone called Poojah walking on water and turning water in to wine.
Good luck for the rest of the season guys.

It was terrible, some of the worst defending I have ever witnessed came under the Ternent era. I remember getting tonked 7-2 off an already relegated Sheff Weds.
Not as bad as the Division 4 days though....
It wasnt that long ago that we played Luton Town in a memorable 3-2 win and look at them now.
Good luck for the season anyway and look to Burnley as to what can be achieved with next to no money ;)

I have no idea who you are Poojah, and if I'm honest think your rant is a bit much, but totally get the fraustration and anger that has got you to the point of writing it. What is great though is that the Fishy and all those that sail in her are well chuffed that tens of thousands on people have in some way empathised with the travails of a Mariners fan.

Poojah you may have saved the club by saying what the majority of us were feeling. It was a long time in coming and we have more than been patient with the players and the way they have under performed. Also with Town fans in great voice and numbers that went they can not say that we haven't been behind them. It's down to them to respond and start moving us up this league.
This has gone global and fans everywhere (apart from glory hunters and the big 4) have felt these lows.

Read this on a link from a Rochdale Fan on the AFC Wimbledon website. Absolute class.
We have always had a huge soft spot for Grimsby following the anti-franchise t-shirts :)
As a Don exiled in West Yorkshire this means I have mixed feelings. I would love to see you turn around your fortunes but Grimsby is a very reachable away game for me. Since we have no hope of going up this year perhaps you would be kind enough to stay up at the expense of Bradford City who are quite a bit closer.

A very disillusioned Mariner

I think the point is that this post of Poojahs has brought the genuine fan together a little more. The football message forum, usually the domain for the sneering and often aggressive away fan, has been shown to be a place for a genuinely common interest amongst us all: the love of our own club, no matter who it is or how well they are doing now. As has been said so often in this thread,
we've all been there and felt like this but stick with it through thick and thin.
Mostly thin :-/

I'm sure that it was intended as 'a bit of fun' but Enke's death should remind everybody that footballers are human beings too!

bluddy hell - 40,000 hits now- you really hit a chord poojah!
in a flight of fancy i imagined the town players coming out at sixfields or for the next home game with a big banner simply saying 'sorry poojah' and them putting on a committed winning performance!!
well, i can dream!

Also, surely the players will have read it by now? Although I guess thats presuming they can turn on a computer.....probably too complicated for them.
Even if they could turn a computer on and read it, most of em would be to thick, arrogant or both to realise it's about them - I refer to players as a whole, not just GTFC!

A lot more than that too. Its also on Man Utd's, Leeds Utd's and Everton's boards to name just a few and its also on Aberdeen's board and the Scottish giants Auchinleck Talbot's board too. ;D

I can see where you are coming from and a lot of it is in bad taste but it was written probably 72 hours before Enke's death and cannot be linked to that. Yes, footballers are human but I don't suppose Enke's troubles were down to criticism of his footballing abilities more to do with personal tragedy.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face this dull morning!
Greetings from the Ayr United fans forum currently bottom of the Scottish 1st division,
http://www.honestpage.co.uk/mboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11757I'm sure many football fans apart from your 'big four' and our 'big two' can sympathise with your situation. Will be looking for your next result, in fact i might even put £20 on it because if 42,000 football fans around the globe have read this i'm sure your 'team' have and may well just get the message!
Bestof luck for the rest of the season

Quality post and reminds me of the days when we got relegated to the conference - anyway I am now adopting Grimsby as my second team and will follow your results! (may even try and get a few of the Col U lads to do a weekend up your way to take in a match).
Good luck fellow fishy fans!

Plymouth Argyle fan here - what a post, it was on our board and we loved it! Hope it turns around for you, we know what it feels like to lose to crappy fourth division teams on a weekly basis. We got out of it, there's no reason that you can't!
Incidentally, I was at your away game at Chester last year and your away support that day was exceptional.

I also would have thought that a pro wouldn't have to be told that we don't expect miracles. A little consistency, a lot of effort and a bucketful of heart is all that's required when you turn out in front of 4000 people who wish they had the talent and good fortune to be able to pull on that black and white shirt.
It means something to us and it should mean more to them than a series of numbers on their bank statements, going through the motions and hoping the team will carry them isn't going to keep us up. Hopefully they will see poojahs post and get any sort of reaction, if it makes them more half-arsed and inept than they already are then they really shouldn't be here at all.

Of course not, but talk of putting this up in the dressing room and so on, think that'll really help change things? I would say 50% of our squad isn't good enough. They know that as well as we do. We can't change it, and I doubt they can. If you was shown this letter about your ability in your job, would it motivate you? It wouldn't me. And if we want the players who aren't good enough to leave, fine. But who the hell are we going to replace them with? We've tried this time and time again (Newey and barnes spring to mind, who's replacements are hardly better)

I'm fully aware of that, but nonetheless, between us or the wider sporting community, it's not the sort of thing I'd want the players seeing. Just my opinion like. I love the fact we've gotten some exposure don't get me wrong, if we get a few more followers from this, then great, but it's not good for the squad, even in jest.

intercourse the players! As has been said countless times we wouldn't be so annoyed and angry if the players showed effort and passion but there has been no show of that. If the Bath defeat had been out of the blue, a cup shock then fine we could all get over it embarrassing yes and disappointing but this wasn't this was expected by the majority. We expected the players to fold and give nothing which they dutifully did. The facts are that alot of these players need the biggest kick up their fat arses or they can be given a one way ticket out of here. They've had enough chances.

One of the major things to come out of this fantastic post is the fact that most other fans around the country are looking at our result (after their own) and will probably continue to do that for some months/years. There are even Colchester fans looking to get together and visit a Town home game. Poojah has probably down more for GTFC and the local tourism industry in one post than the club, local authority tourism department etc have achieved in a decade. The players may not like being told they have been performing crap. Unless someone (who in effect pays their wages) tells them they are never going to change; are they?

Made it on to Cobblers Comments today...
And even though they thought they had it bad right now (losing to their local rivals the MKDonuts) I hope that in reading Poojah's cry from the heart, those Cobblers won't allow Schadenfreude to inspire them to cast aside all their own personal woes on Saturday. They can leave him on the bench. ;)

Staggering to think that a Liverpool fan could think his club are having enough trouble to hijack the post and use it for his 'struggling' team :-/

Told him that whilst it summed up my feelings it couldn't have been me who posted it...I don't remember ever owning any second-rate Scandinavian porn. I always wanted the good stuff!

I used to work with a Scouser, he hadn't been to a game in over 10 years but he would be spitting feathers if they drew or lost to anyone outside the top 4. It doesn't surprise me that they have nicked his letter, they'd rob the steam off your shite if they could get 10 bob for it.
Could who ever is compiling the list of Footy, Ice Hockey, American Football, Rugby or any other sort of club that has posted Poojah's letter put it in some sporting order please.

Ice Hockey
American FootballCheers buddy.
I would say to Dan, we have been putting up with shite for the last decade; it was about time someone let rip. We have given them our full support and if it ruffles their feathers a bit, then so be it. The ones who stand up and start earning the right to wear the Black & White stripes will be forgiven the others will fade away into non league where they deserve to be. Town fans have never given up and poojah's letter is just the recharge we all needed. No player will be tarnished if they show heart, fight and dogged determination when they represent us.

I wouldn't normally register with a site to post on something I know absolutely nothing about, but feel the sentiment in Poojah's letter could probably apply to many teams in various sports, although not many other sports pay the obscene wages that football does in this country.
I picked this up off the lounge section of THE ice hockey forum where a lot of fans visit from all over the world!
I hope things start to pick up for Grimsby soon.

One of thems not playing and the other aint bothered! Lets see if we can get it in front of the rest of the squad, Bosh, Clark etc. I may print a copy and take it to Northampton on Saturday. Someone needs to tell them the whole football league is keeping an eye on them this week!

Registered so you could add the real "Pool" to your list. It's been on a Blackpool message board. Always looked out for you lot since you signed Paul Groves, fantastic player i always thought. A lot better than the last 2 former Pool players you've add, Phil Barnes and Adrian Forbes! I won't add Mike Newell. Despite our recent success, i'm sure many a Blackpool fan can relate to the post. Think of it as being a character building process.

I would have, quite seriously, been sacked.
Thing is, when Poojah wrote this it was intended to be shared between us Fishy-ites, not for National or even GLOBAL exposure. Those coming on here aren't taking the p**s, they are saying that it strikes a chord, they've all been there. You may disagree with the (huge) scale of this potential humiliation of the team but that was'nt Poojahs intention.
But that hasn't happened, not even close. READ the replys. Most admit that Poojah has put into words what fans from ost clubs have felt at some stage. for every reply taking the p1ss there are 100 wishing us luck. It the players can't handle it then they are in the wrong job. Of course the likes of BRADLEY MARINER will always end up RATHERFEDUP but the vast majority of Town fans (and fans around the world it seems) are in support.

Got sent it today by a Middlesbrough fan and a plastic Liverpool fan I work with asked if I'd written it. I only wish I could claim the credit for it. Saturday's performance lowered me to depths of depression that left me unable, probably unwilling, to vent my frustrations at those players any more (much to Biccys' disappointment). This is the best post i have ever read on any forum and have thoroughly enjoyed reading the replies from other teams fans, their messages bring slight comfort in what is IMO our darkest hour, just knowing that we aint the first fans to have felt like Poojah and we definately wont be the last is a comfort.
I think something like this has been brewing for a long time and hopefully will not only spur the players on but also get a few extra bums on seats(although that might not help our performances in the slightest)
Poojah thank you so much for saying what all other fans were thinking in their own little way :) :) :)

Greetings from Norway!
Just registered to say that is something of the funniest I've ever read on a footie-forum. Think every fan of a Norwegian-club (except illegitimate-child Rosenborg, obviously) can relate to that, we have all been there..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I see you in a cupfinal or play-off final against MK Dons at Wembley just a couple of seasons ago? To my recollection you seemed to play well on the day, and had loads of supporters there. How can you be stuck in the bottom of the league?? Saw Accrington Stanley lose at Brentford last year. Surely you are better than them?
Will definitely look for your result come Saturday. Best wishes for the rest of the season!

I think the vast majority of people have taken this in light it was intended, but I just wanted to clarify a few things for those who've taken offence in some way.
I wrote the post in a purposely over-the-top, satirical way - it was never meant to be taken seriously! Just to be clear, it wasn't a reflection of my actual opinion but rather an attempt at a humorous slant on our current predicament. For the record, I have better control of my emotions than the rant might suggest!
Obviously, there's an element of my post which now appears in somewhat bad taste in light of the recent tragedy with the German goalkeeper, but to be fair by the time that particular story broke it was a bit late to do anything about it, such is the explosive rate at which this thread has spread.
The thing is, as daft as it sounds, even as a grown man the players who represent this club are my idols. It's just gut-wrenching to feel let down by your idols so often. I hope the players, if they have read this, take it in the spirit it was intended and give each and every one of us long-suffering Town fans something to cheer about on Saturday and beyond!
Let's make this the turning point, boys. Come on Town!

99% of us know that Poojah, you do not have to justify yourself in any way. You should be well happy with your 15 mins (+) of fame and enjoy. I suspect if you felt so inclined, by making your presence known at any game would result in several free beers. should you choose Malibu's we would then know you are Biccy's in disguise.

It just shows how fans all over the country can relate to the frustration of paying a fortune and being taken to the cleaners by players who are arguable paid too much and dont have the passion for the place/team that we love. We should never underestimate fan power to change the game we love.
P.S. Its refreshing to see fans of other teams come on here and be diplomatic - long may it continue!!

Someone made mention of it earlier - I'm sure if the supporters trust were to get some mugs and t-shirts made up before chrimbo there would be no shortage of takers.
I'd love to see a pontoon stand filled with Spartacus style "I am Poojah" t-shirts.

Hey guys,
Just joined to let you know that this letter has made its way to a Canberra Raiders Supporters forum in Australia. Skimming to this thread it seems you have made NFL and Ice Hockey forums already, well now you can add Rugby League to the list.
Easily one of funniest things I've ever seen. Best of luck for the rest of the year for your club, hopefully you can get out of that relegation zone sooner rather than later.
I'll do my best to spread this great work to other people.

I'll update the list later on today :). If there are any guests on here of teams who aren't on the list, register and then just post a quick message so we can add your club to the list.

Pity, as I'm sure someone will have the gumption to make t-shirts and take them down to tomorrow's game. Hot cakes anyone?

Just thought I'd add another quick note to say I've seen it on an England forum and a Scotland forum.
I hope poojah doesn't have to pay for a pint at the next home game!
I'll be watching out for your result on Saturday!
Good luck.

And the number of hits increases day by day...at this rate it'll soon be up to six figures.
Poojah has hit such a chord here, I can see his post go down in "history" alongside the likes of the infamous Norwegian commentator, Bjørge Lillelien, who was responsible for the "Maggie Thatcher, can you hear me?" rant
On the basis that any publicity is good publicity, he's done Town a favour as now the eyes of the world (literally!) are on Town and our response on the pitch
We'll just have to wait and see how motivated our professional footballers will be tomorrow and if they can make him eat his words...
Onwards and upwards...UTM

*sighs* Oh, all right :)
I've been hiding shyly in the sidelines watching with astonishment as this thread has unfolded, but I couldn't be bothered to register. I can't help but notice the absence of Sutton United on your "teams' forums this appears on" list. Not only has it made it onto ours, but also appears on Tinpot Terrace, my very own non-league chat forum 8)
And yes, I will be watching out for your result tomorrow. Imagine if the game somehow ended up getting postponed - I think the world would explode! Good luck guys.

This has become the biggest viewed thread in Fishy history beating the bike to the bank one, and rightly so. Dan when you do your list, I think you should break the teams down into the leagues which the team is in - Premier, Championship, L1, L2 and others easier way of seeing who's not seen it.
GTFC players the world literally are looking out for our result tomorrow, will you live up to the letter or prove us wrong and actually play for yourselves and the fans.
For those interested in a t-shirt, its something possibly the 12th man campaign can look at doing, I don't think the trust will because of what it is but no reasons why we couldn't if demand was there.

Hello there, Mariners! Add Chelsea to the list. As someone just said on our forum, it's reading rants like Poojah's that make us feel extremely lucky that even when we're bad, we're almost certainly not as awful as what you lot have to put up with at times. Full respect for making a stand for the club you love, and good luck for Northampton tomorrow and the rest of the season. I hope you stay up!

Is it big enough yet for it to be brought to the attention of the House of Commons?
This fascination with the plight of GTFC, resulting in all kinds of global interest in all things N E Lincolnshire, should surely have some national representation too...
Shona, Austin and a few others might be thinking it's time to step in to the limelight and try to bask in its glory...wonder how far they'd get in to reading Poojah's words before the speaker stepped in though? ;)
Posted by: Verso, November 13, 2009, 2:04pm; Reply: 311
I'm going to be honest here. Grimsby has always been the place no-one wants to go to on a cold Tuesday night in January. We've all turned our noses up at you and have never really cared about how you do or where you are in the league.
I just had to Google you to see where exactly you were placed in League 2. Thank god for Darlington hey?
The phenomenon that Poojah has created seems to have had a positive effect on your club.
Suddenly we all care.
We all want you to smash 4 past Northampton.
Will it happen? You never know with our beloved game.
Just so you know I'm an Ipswich fan so I too have endured years of the ignorant masses turning their noses up at my club. It must be an east coast thing!
Anyway good luck with everything. It sounds like you're gonna need it.

Poojah, you do not have to explain yourself. At the end of the day you were letting your feelings out-nothing wrong with that

Well, this has just got more surreal with every day that has gone by. Talk of banners and chants at tomorrow's game, mentioned in newspapers and on the radio, attention from what seems like the entire world - honestly, I can barely begin to comprehend the impact this one, single post has made.
It's a wierd feeling, it really is. :)
Anyway, I just hope the players can turn it around tomorrow. I actually have a sneaky feeling they might just do it - contrary to the original rant, I actually believe we have some genuinely talented players here, but that their talent is just not being applied effectively. It's not a question of whether they can do it, rather whether they will.
This much is true - there can be no illusions now as to how much this means to the fans of this great club - go on lads, if you're reading this, do it, for us!
Come on Town!

Last year we had the same frustrations as you are having now. Over paid players who didn't seem to care what they did on the pitch, showed no heart, passion or effort

Well done Poojah,
We are now the most talked about football club in the world,
So Mr Fenty what are YOU going to do to reward Poojah, ?
I think the club should find a way to invite Poojar to a game and maybe do the pre match team talk, ;)
I am sure it would be televised , giving town even more publicity.

I had to register to say what a genius piece of writing that was and congratulations for striking a chord with every genuine sports fan in the world by the looks of things.
I'll be keeping an eye out for your result this weekend and I hope your players have read this to see what it means to the people paying their wages.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.
Cheers.

A very disillusioned Mariner
Poojah
I have to say this and being an ex Proffessional footballer, I agree with every word you said about the players recent performances and I assume that the Bath cup game was the final straw.
It as took me all of a week to get over the Bath fiasco, or should I say total disaster and when I read your post I was absolutly in awe at what you put together, it is bloody hard for me as an ex Town player whose black and white Town shirt means so much to me to see these performances of recent years.
All we expect of the Town players is
guts and energy which to my mind is not a great deal to ask for, because I have always said this about Town supporters is if you show you are trying they will back you till the hilt.
Then on Tuesday after the Bath game, Town played quite well against Leeds United, but then again we were on Sky, and come on boys we are in the shop window, we have got to put some effort into this game.
The crunch believe you me is today against Northampton and Lincoln City away next week.
Well done Poojah a master piece post probally the best one ever on the Fishy.

That is where I think you are wrong, my friend! It is one of the best and well-written rants of all time.
I dare you to name one rant better than this one! One rant that in modern history created this much attention anywhere! Poojah is our prophet and our saviour.
In Norway we now have a new expression: "Jeg måtte gi dem en po-ja på møtet i dag." Meaning something like this in english: " I had to give them a poojah in our meeting today". This being used when A) you need to give someone a reality check B) you need to wake someone up C) describing a situation where you are really upset and can`t stop talking.
Poojah is now officially adding to the Norwegian language.
Poojah for prime minister! 8)

You can now add Ashford Town (Middx) to your list. As an exiled Barnsley fan living in the south I now watch Ashford more than Barnsley but still have fond memories of Cleethorpes and 2.40 postponements due to fog :) A brilliant brilliant post and I'm sure it echoes what many people have thought about players at their club at some time. The Jim Iley era at Barnsley would equate to roughly what you're going through now

POO JAH is a very apt user alias for such an attention seeking, vile individual. Some, if not all of the content of that post is positively repugnant and should not get this or any level of coverage or support from decent minded people. It will only serve to further degenerate the fortunes of the club and confine a once half respected footballing 'also ran' to a fete of Maidstone, Scarborough, Boston or Gretna proportions. Is it not time for the so called supporters of GTFC to stop whining and put all of your money and efforts into buying Fenty out??? Then you can play with your own toy and not have to sit and watch the bigger boy breaking it.

Pratt of the biggest order! Poojah has at no point been attention seeking, in fact he has positively declined it. He isn't orchestrating the publicity but has struck a chord with many sporting folks worldwide. Yes, certain parts are distasteful but he didn't expect this amount of infamy!! Are you RFU in disguise?

As it is your first post and you obviously don't understand the circumstances in which the letter was written your opinion is invalid.
I feel it is my duty to tell you that you have used the word FETE in the wrong context,in the context you have used it the word is FATE.

From the Telegraph article
"players can go into Saturday's game against local rivals Lincoln with that awareness, and hopefully it will bring another 10 or 20 per cent out of them."
So we can at least expect a performance of about 15% to 25% on Saturday
By the way.
ROB: When is this going to be made a sticky?

Good question.
When we win the Champions League in 2024 (the oracle of FM predicted it), will the stickied thread be closed with a gushing letter of praise for the players?
The glass is half full!

I wasn't at the Bath game which prompted this incredible rant, but I did go to Northampton on Saturday to watch what I am told was a great improvement in performance.
Put it this way. At one point, after what seemed like hours of hopeless drudgery, I turned to my mate and said 'Oh no, my watch has stopped. It's still says quarter past three.' To which he replied 'It is quarter past three.'
Honestly, I though it must be almost half time, but no, it had been a mere fifteen soporific minutes.
Mind you, to be fair, the second half was a little better.

That made me chuckle. I've done exactly the same thing at BP a number of times. Checking my watch against the scoreboard clock and the one underneath. This season the clock seems to standstill ensuring that the fans have to suffer the full ninety minutes and each minute seems to last 90 seconds.

Sarcasm ..... ::) ..... gotta love it. Paul Ince proved something a few years back when he took over at the ' Sleeping Giants ' of Macclesfield. He took the biggest bunch of losers on the face of the planet and turned them around both in terms of confidence and ability. He said: "It was a fair result.
"In the first half Bradford played a slightly different system and they caused us problems. We couldn't get the ball in midfield.
"We changed it at half-time and could have got back into it within five minutes of the second half quite easily.
"After that I think they showed a little bit more heart, quality and organisation than us.
"We had some chances and you can look at it as good goalkeeping or poor finishing or both.
"Saturday's performance against Lincoln City can't be the standard we produce when we are playing well. If that is as good as they play when playing their best, it isn't good enough.
"I am honest and I want to make sure they don't think I am going to be an easy touch.
"That was a million miles away from what I expect them to play. The Lincoln game I would class as an average performance, so the standards they produced last night is a long way from what I expect individually and collectively.
"Bradford were stronger in every department on the pitch and that is an honest reflection and a disappointing one."
"We have got to sign people who can consistently deliver at the right level
"I've got to work with them and bring people in that can perform at the level we expect.
"We are trying to bring players in before the deadline.
"I am quite sensible in the way I reflect on games, but anyone will tell you that yes we had some chances, and you can argue their goals were long-range shots, but overall we were at home and we were not in control of the game.
"I am extremely disappointed but my expectations and hopes remain the same as when I took over.
"We are where we are because we are not performing good enough. There is a job that we have to do.
"We need to have more heart. You can start looking for it individually and if you find people haven't got it they don't play, it is as simple as that."
well it's not quite up their with poojah but it's about as honest as you can get from a manager. one thing i will say for woods - he isn't afraid to tell it how it is and at least he's not labouring under any illusions. the worrying thing of course is that when you read the comments in bold you suddenly realise that it appears to woods that the current squad have no redeemimg features whatsoever!
