Don’t get me wrong - he’s been a true legend of the game but it’s natural to wonder if he is selected on merit or on status. I personally think he’s been pretty limited for a good few years now, but he’s obviously got his personal goals milestone he’s fixated on. Pretty undignified to sack off your team mates and spoil the honour of international representation for your own vanity project objectives. Bad call. "You should do what you love while you can"

He's practically a goal-hanging statue these days and, for a player who has relied on physicality (in addition to some skill, of course), it means he's a fraction of the player he once was. Portugal have got a lot of really good players who should be in the team ahead of CR7. Stupid male private, turning his initials into a flipping brand.

He played in the first but then the manager told him he needed him to play 30 minutes of the 2nd game. He said that wasn’t what was agreed, but if the team needed him he would play. He was warming up to come on as planned but then the manager decided not to bring him on. It was after that he flounced off. You have thought it was time for Portugal to move on without him.
