Assume this will be resolved this season (or maybe next!).

I went for (insignificant) large fine only, but I can believe they'll use expensive lawyers and they'll end up getting off completely and then GTFC, Scunny, Port Vale, and Newport will have to compensate them for hurt feelings!

Maybe they'll take the hit, get a points deduction which maybe means they miss out on Europe for a season, but at least it's resolved. Do they want it dragging on for more years?

Nothing for years. They’ll appeal the guilty verdict and then appeal the sanctions they get with the best lawyers money can buy . This won’t be settled soon . Does anyone really care?
I have no affiliation with any prem team but is it really that bad? If owners want to throw their money at a club , so long as it’s out of their own pocket and not saddling the club with debt, why not?
What the city owners have done has been far more beneficial for the team and the local area than what the Glazers have done at United.
The financial fair play rules were only introduced in the Prem because the original “big four” didn’t want the likes of city and Chelsea competing with them.

Jack Walker financially bankrolled Blackburn to buy the best players. They won the Prem title.  Not a great deal of difference to City.

Different rules back then.  They cheated and should be punished in my opinion with relegation to the bottom tier , the jocks did it with rangers other wise the financial rules are pointless.  In reality that won’t happen

They have to be relegated or the PL loses all credibility as a competition and cannot charge the ridiculous foreign tv rights fees that props it up . They have little chance of winning an appeal and they know it . This is a far worse outcome than they envisaged apparently .  The main charges cover 9 years and the fact they tried to hide the cheating also means increased points deductions .
Price of football podcast from Saturday worth a listen .

It was once legal to not wear a seat belt. To not wear a helmet on a motorbike.

They are being tried on the rules of this century, not the last.

Don't get me wrong, I think FFP/SCR or whatever it's called is balderdash, it just means the elite clubs can have a cartel and the likes of Villa and Newcastle can;t compete,

This will drag on for years!

Personally, they should be docked 12 points, per season. This would be a 120-point deduction! I doubt the Premier League has the balls to do it!
